DOTA 2 teams from India, Bangladash, Cambodia, Japan, China, Brunei, Korea & Taiwan who are without any sponsors can now get a chance to win a sponsorship contract with gaming hear brand Armaggeddon.

 

The top 2 teams from the online qualifiers will qualify for the Armaggeddon DOTA 2 Grand Slam final event in Singapore from 7 – 10 March at Marina Bay Sands.

1. TOURNAMENT-SPECIFIC TERMS & CONDITIONS

 

1.1 The Organizer of this tournament is Leapfrog Distribution Pte. Ltd. (Singapore). The Organizer appoints the Tournament Committee that runs the tournament. Tournament Referees are appointed by game publisher E-Club (Malaysia).

 

1.2 To ensure the Grand Slam Champions’ availability to sign a sponsorship contract with Armaggeddon or a selected Armaggeddon Alliance Partner, all competitors must ensure they are free of conflicting ongoing contract obligations before the start of the tournament. Competitors will be disqualified by the Organizer should they fail to meet this requirement.

 

1.3 Competitors are required to honestly disclose their personal particulars and conflicting commitments for the administration of this tournament. Penalties will be dealt in the event of falsification of any information, regardless of whether the falsification is discovered during or after the tournament. The Organizer has full rights to renounce any team who breaches this condition.

 

1.4 Competitors must wear any marketing material (i.e. t-shirt, tags, etc.) provided by the tournament/event organizers before entering the tournament area.

 

1.5 Competitors must be clothed politely and appropriately. Slippers, singlets and shorts are not allowed.

 

1.6 Competitors must be available for all tournament dates they are involved in, post-tournament awards ceremonies, photographs, interviews, or other tournament events.

 

1.7 All competitors must be present at the tournament area 15 minutes prior to their scheduled match.

 

1.8 Tournament PCs are only to be used for match play only. Any other activities on the PCs are not allowed (i.e. checking emails, surfing the net, etc.).

 

1.9 Each team will be given around 10 to 15 minutes to set up their equipment after which, the match will immediately start.

 

1.10 If a competitor has to leave the tournament area during their scheduled match, a referee/official must be informed.

 

1.11 The tournament area is restricted only to tournament competitors. Competitors are not allowed to enter the tournament area with companions that are not participating in the tournament. In addition, tournament officials reserve the right to deny anyone, even a competitor from entering the tournament area within reason.

 

1.12 At the conclusion of match play, teams are expected to break down their equipment in an orderly manner. Teams need to straighten their tournament area up once they break down. Please take into consideration that other matches may be taking place and it would be unsportsmanlike to disturb other competitors while competing.

 

1.13 The act of registering for this tournament implies full acceptance of all terms, conditions, rules and regulations stated, in its entirety.

 

2. SPECIFIC GAME RULES

 

2.1 The software used is DOTA 2 (Steam version)

 

2.2 It is a 5 (Five) Player team tournament.

 

2.3 The Game Mode used is Captains Mode (CM)

 

2.4 Sides (Radiant / Dire; Ban first) will be announced before the match or decided by a coin toss.

 

2.5 The first team to destroy the opposing team’s ancient (main building), either team passes a vote to surrender, or all players on a team intentionally disconnect.

 

2.6 Each team must present 1 (One) representative. He/she is responsible for his/her team and will be responsible of all communication with the Referees.

 

2.7 Each person attending the tournament must have read and accepted the rules and regulations. Ignoring it cannot be a reason put forward in case of an issue or dispute.

 

2.8 The Organizer and Tournament Committee reserve the right to modify the rules and regulations from time to time and without notice, to protect the integrity and smooth flow of the tournament.

 

3. RESTRICTIONS

 

 3.1 The sharing of basic regeneration items, consumables, and gems are allowed. Items shared may not be kept or used for any other purpose (i.e. reselling).

 

3.2 It is not allowed to purposefully suicide to drop item for another player.

 

3.3 It is not allowed to block his own creeps with the help of spells. It is only allowed to use hero model to intercept creeps.

 

3.4 Backdooring is allowed.

 

3.5 Any cheats, hacks or exploits are illegal and not allowed in play.

 

3.6 Any use of third party scripts and programs that leads to an unfair game advantage is not allowed. (e.g. Invoker spell script, bottle crow script, etc.)

 

3.7 Players are responsible for their actions in regards to known map or game bugs/exploits. Any Player or Team utilizing ANY exploit or bug in a map or game, unintentional or otherwise, will be sanctioned according to 8.2.

 

3.8 Any tampering with computer hardware or software, including but not limited to intentional crashing of software and illegal modification of hardware or software configurations will be sanctioned according to 8.2.

 

4. DISCONNECTIONS

 

4.1 If any player disconnects during a match, the game will be paused (default is F9) until the player has reconnected. Pausing is not used for any other reason.

 

5. SERVER CRASH

 

5.1 In the case of a server crash, the game can be continued from the latest save. The person who hosted the lobby for the match will have the option (game setup option) to load from a save file when they host again. The save file is generated every minute in the background.

 

5.2 In the unlikely event that the reload does not work, the game will be replayed with the same exact hero picks and lane movements until the first creep wave of the Radiant and Dire side meets.

 

6. CONDUCT

 

6.1 Competitors will conduct themselves in a reasonable manner, maintaining a friendly and polite demeanor to spectators, competitors, members of the press, tournament staff, and to other participants of the event.

 

6.2 Competitors must remain quiet when inside the designated tournament area. Talking is permitted, but must be kept at a reasonable level, and away from other competitors. It is strictly forbidden for spectators to communicate with a player while he or she is competing.

 

6.3 Competitors will refrain from the use of vulgar language during the entire competition. All rules of conduct also apply to chatting through the game console.

 

6.4 Competitors are expected to compete in a professional manner. Throwing a match, halting play without cause, or showing a flagrant lack of effort will be construed as a violation of player conduct, and will result in match penalties, forfeit and disqualification from the tournament.

 

6.5 The board of referees has the right to apply penalties, disqualify and dismiss any registered player from the tournament, at their discretion, at any stage of the tournament, for any reason, with no prior warning to the player.

 

7. REPORTING OF REPORTS

 

7.1 All results must be reported to the respective Referee right after the match.

 

8. GEAR, DRIVERS AND CONFIGURATIONS

 

8.1 Players are obliged to use Armaggeddon gaming gear and equipment from National Finals to Grand Finals, unless stated otherwise. Players may use their own equipment prior to National Finals. This is subject to change at the Organizer’s discretion for different regions.

 

9. ROSTER

 

9.1 A team is allowed to have up to 2 substitutes on their roster. The roster is locked during the entire tournament.

 

9.2 Teams are allowed substitutions, provided if they are registered on the roster. No substitutions will be allowed after the start of a match. If any team needs to make more than 2 (Two) substitutions for any reason whatsoever, the team must forfeit their match.

 

9.3 A Referee has to be notified prior to the substitution.

 

9.4 Tournament Referees can decide to make exceptions on roster changes depending on the basis of the request (e.g. a player is injured, sick etc.).

 

9.5 Teams are not allowed to rotate their players in between matches.

 

9.6 A player cannot participate in more than 1 (One) team during the tournament.

 

9.7 All players in teams which do not show up without giving a minimum of 3-days notice will be blacklisted from future tournaments for 2 years.

 

9.8 Foreign players are allowed for participate. Majority of the team (at least 3/5 or 4/6 or 5/7) should be locals in order to represent their country in the Grand Finals.

 

10. PENALTIES AND DISQUALIFICATIONS

 

10.1 If any of the above rules, regulations, terms and/or conditions are broken/not met, Tournament Referees may apply penalties according to their judgment and discretion.

 

10.2 Penalties that can be applied are the following:

 

•             Warning.

 

•             Default loss.

 

•             Banning a player/team from the venue.

 

•             Disqualification of a player/team from the entire tournament.

 

10.3 Disqualifications are applied by the tournament officials, be it the referees or tournament organizers. And will void all rights for the entire team to participate further in the tournament, and also to use the facilities provided by the tournament/ event.

 

11. SPONSORSHIP AND PRIZES

 

11.1 National Champions who have confirmed their participation in the Grand Finals at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore from 7-10 March 2013 will be provided the following: 1) basic budget airfare sponsorship of up to USD$1,000 value per team, on a reimbursement basis; 2) basic accommodation for FIVE (5) nights from 7-12 March 2013. The type and location of the accommodation will be determined by the Organizer. The Organizer’s role in providing accommodation is solely to make reservations and cover the cost of the accommodation only, excluding any extra costs incurred, such as telephone bills, food and beverage consumption etc.

 

11.2 Prizes stated in all tournament advertisements and collaterals are not per team member. It is understood that the stated prizes are to be awarded to the respective winning teams as a whole to be divided amongst the team members internally.

 

11.3 Should there be a clash of interests between the Grand Slam sponsorship and National level sponsorship, the Grand Slam sponsorship will have priority.

 

11.4 Any dispute in the division of prizes within the team should be settled by the team internally and does not concern the Organizer, Tournament Committee or Referees.

 

11.5 The Organizer is not responsible for the safety and well-being of competitors and/or their belongings at any point in time.

 

11.6 Prizes and sponsorships may be subject to change without prior notice. All decisions made by the Organizer are final.
