The GD Studio presents Dreamhack DOTA 2 Invitational
Organized by The GD Studio, the $6,000 DreamHack DOTA 2 Invitational kicks off 14 March 2013, with 8 of the best teams from the Western DOTA 2 scene in action. The winner will get a guaranteed qualification slot to the DreamHack Summer DOTA 2 Championship as well as $2,500 in cash.
The online competition will follow a round robin group stage format with the top three teams from each group advancing. The winner of each group will be automatically advance to the semi-finals, while the second and third placed teams will have to play in the quarter-finals. All matches will be a best-of-three, apart from the Finals which will be a best-of-five matchup.
The two-time grand finalists of Dreamhack, Natus Vincere, will not be seen in action because of their commitment to boot-camp in China either this month or April. On the other hand, SingSing’s QPAD Red Pandas (full roster to be announced) will be one of the eight contenders.
The tournament production will be handled by The GD studio team, which will include James ’2GD’ Harding, Andy ‘Draskyl’ Stiles, Johan ‘wEppas’ Westberg, Rikard ‘Skrff’ Melin, Bruno ‘Statsman’ Carlucci and Niklas ‘Wagamama’ Högström. Tickets will also be available on DotaTV and fans can opt to catch the games via the client.
