Which team can upstage the “SEA Big 3” (Zenith, Orange, MuFC)?
The first quarter of 2013 is almost over and various aspiring teams trying to be recognized as one of the South East Asia’s premier teams were blocked by the dominance of Zenith, MuFC, and Neolution.Orange.
All the leagues and tournaments in the first quarter were captured by the Big 3 including GEST February, Armaggeddon Grand Slam Asia and DotaTalk League, leaving their status as the best teams in South-East Asia unquestioned. The question now is – which team can possibly pose a threat to the Big 3?
Rapture Gaming Network got a word with multiple managers, event organizers and casters on which teams they thought could make the breakthrough.
First on our list was the organizer of DotaTalk League (previously known as Litany League), “MasterRamen”. For him, it was the team from Thailand MiTH-Trust who he felt was the team with the best chance of breaking the dominance of the Big 3. He felt that MiTH’s skill level is not far behind that of Zenith, MuFC and Orange. He also added that the team put up great performances recently with multiple runner-up placings in tournaments including DotaTalk League.
Another personality that voted for MiTH is well-known BeyondTheSummit caster, David “LD “Gorman. Aside from MiTH, LD also noted that First Departure is stepping up their game at the moment.
Next on our list was the manager of QMX, Yone Fang. Yone’s team choice was Neolution.International. He felt that the team was not taking things seriously yet and pointed out the presence of, what he believed were “legendary players” NinjaBoogie and Blah, to be the key to their success.
Another manager that we were able to interview was Code Freedom of Neolution.Thailand. He concurred with MasterRamen and added that MiTH had the most experience in the scene of all the contenders while also emphasizing the presence of TnK who was a good leader and decision maker.
The last 2 personalities that we were able to talk to were Asian Gaming League Admin Jaseem Khan and Neolution.International manager John Lim. Both of them also voted for MiTH-Trust highlighting their superb performance against MuFC. Aside from MiTH, John added that his team Neolution.International as a possible contender to break the dominance of the Big 3 in South-East Asia.
With that, it seems evident that MiTH-Trust has caught the attention of the experts with their superb and consistent play at the moment. First Departure, Neolution.International are seen as possible contenders to break the Big 3.
Rapture Gaming Network will closely monitor future tournaments to determine whether these predictions will prove to be true or will another team upset the odds. Stay tuned for more updates.
