Halo 4 Global Championship Finals Live!

 

After a good month’s worth of slaying with thousands upon thousands of Spartans falling in the process, the biggest Halo 4 tournament for the year 2013 is about to reach a climatic conclusion. Convening some of the best console FPS gamers from across the world in Seattle, Washington, for the weekend, 343 Industries, together with Microsoft Studios and Virgin Mobile, have whittled the competition from 256 hopefuls to the strongest eight.

 

The grand finals, a live two-hour event, will see the eight finalist at each other’s throats for a slice of the USD300,000 on offer. The supreme victor though will walk out a massive $200,000 richer. The tournament, hosted by Xbox LIVE’s Major Nelson, Blair Herter, and Jessica Chobot, will start at 7pm ET / 4pm PT (for more information on local SEA timings kindly refer to our list below).

Meet the finalist

On top of competitive gameplay, the tournament will also feature play-by-play commentary and analysis by Andy "Bravo" Dudynsky and Alex "Goldenboy" Mendez, as well as post-match interviews and highlights. In between rounds, the broadcast will feature several Xbox One exclusives, Rooster Teeth shorts, musical acts and more.

The open tournament, which began on 15^th July, was opened to anyone with a playable copy of Halo 4 and a working XBL Gold subscription account. Registrants and participants have since been treated to a slew of goodies which included a free avatar T-shirts and, for those lucky to have beaten the competition in the sweepstake, Microsoft sponsored games and avatar props and miscellanea.
