RGN Elite FIFA League: The Final Round

The final round of FIFA 13 fixtures take place today in the RGN FIFA Elite League. leOmeS still tops the table, and will be looking to cement his lead going into the 7 week long mid-season break. With the league moving to FIFA 14 after its recess, players will be looking to score points before the unpredictability of a new game engine comes into play.

1. MiTH.KirosZ (TH) v si_jali (MY)

Two players stuck at the foot of the table meet in the league’s final FIFA 13 match day. Si_jali and KirosZ have had massive problems this season: The Malaysian has only scored one goal from open play so far, while the Thai has leaked 22 goals in 8 games. Neither player will want to go into the mid-season break at the bottom of the pile, so we expect this to be a cagey affair.

2. Nonii9 (TH) v Infinite.leOmeS (MY)

Nonii9 started the season with great promise, but has since fallen to sixth in the table after just one win in his last 5 games. His opponents are starting to find weaknesses in his overall play, and Nonii9 will need to be far more solid in defence against the league’s most potent attack in leOmeS. The Malaysian has scored 17 goals in 8 games this season while conceding only 7 in the process, and will look to notch his seventh win in an already impressive campaign.

3. eMaster.Vin (MY) v 3H|KunKun (VN)

Vin was inactive in match day 8, but didn’t lose much ground on the league leaders leOmeS and El Rey. The Malaysian has hit form in recent weeks, staying unbeaten since his week 1 loss, and Vietnam’s KunKun will need to play at his best if he is to continue moving away from the drop zone. KunKun showed last week that he had the ability to stay disciplined against Nonii9’s patient approach, and will feel confident coming up against a very similar style today.

4. eMaster.Vin (MY) v si_jali (MY)

Malaysia’s FIFA legends go head to head this week. Si_jali and Vin have attended numerous WCGs together, and were training partners long ago in the Winds clan. It’s safe to say that both players will be well aware of what they’re up against today, and the winner of this game will be the player with the better execution. Vin is the obvious favourite looking at the form guide, but si_jali could just spring a surprise in this local derby.

5. Flash.El Rey (SG) v Zarate (SG)

El Rey put an end to a 4 game winless run last weekend with victory over hibidi, and will be looking to make it two wins in a row against another Singaporean. Even though Zarate has been poor so far this season, he has had the beating of El Rey in previous encounters, most notably in WCG SG 2012. The clash between these two former teammates will be a cracking one. With both known to favour balanced instead of defensive team mentalities, we could see a lot of goals in this game.
