If you think the DotA 2 East and West qualifiers of the International occurred last week are the last big events for this month, I am glad to tell you that we will experience another exciting, the GEST June, is coming this weekend. The official teams in their respected brackets have just been released.
Before looking through the brackets, let us first review the past results of the GEST DotA tournament. On the GEST February we found Mineski taking the crown to the Philippines by beating the 2nd place Starsboba from Vietnam. Then, the GEST March witnessed another Filipino team bagging the 1st prize in character of the MsiEvoGT. The Filipino’ teams were confident to get their 3rd consecutive GEST Championship but come out short, Orange Esports dethroned the Filipino’s by beating iZone125 in the finals of GEST April. After a month had come with GEST May which showed to be another title for the Philippines. iZone125 and MsiEvoGT both from the Philippines found themselves battling for the crown. MsiEvoGT claimed their 2nd GEST Championship by beating iZone125 2-0.
This month’s GEST bracket was release and we have our corresponding groups.
This is going to be a 2-day event that will start on Saturday June 16th, which will feature group elimination on the first day. Top two teams in their brackets will advance to the playoffs, which will happen on the following day. Both series of matches will start at 12pm according to the GEST IDC.
On group A, the solid performance in the last GEST when dominating iZone125, 2-time GEST champions MSIEvoGT looks poise to take an early bracket lead. While on the other bracket, fan expects Orange Esports to advance easily. The most exciting bracket to watch out for is the Bracket B. Starsboba, Invasion ReD, iDeal and Dreamz. All these teams are heavy contenders and a threat to whoever advances in the playoffs. With Julz (formerly known as Mski.PcolorJulz) now with Dreamz expect more challenge in this bracket.
With the previous encounters and broad experienced in playing with each other expect an intense GEST June! Will the Filipino’s again reclaim their throne? Or will another country get their championship this month? Who do you think will win the grand prize of 1500$?
