When we think about eSports, a few things come to mind, such as camaraderie, teamwork, communication and sportsmanship. ESports events are a growing trend that brings together the fans, the players, and the media and basically anyone interested in gaming.To make your summer even hotter, Rapture PH together with its partners NVIDIA, ASUS Philippines, PLDT Alpha Lines, PC Gilrmore, KTS Game Media, SteelSeries, Gameclub and Mineski will organize Pinoy Gaming Festival Summer Assembly that will be held on May 5th - 6th, 2012 at SM North EDSA Cyberzone.
We all know that FPS (First-Person Shooter) is one of most popular gaming category in the world. If you want to win a game, it depends on how good your team engage and individual skills. That’s why Pride of Champions League (PCL), a yearly Cross Fire tournament in Philippines, will be featured at the PGF Summer. The winner of the event will represent Philippines on the much awaited World Cyber Games 2012 that will be held on China.
Second will be Mineski's National Cyber Collegiate League (NCCL) that lets students from different colleges and universities to take part on PGF Summer Assembly. The National Cyber Collegiate League or NCCL aims to develop the spirit of teamwork and competition among schools all around the Philippines. The game that they will play will be DotA.
Next game is DotA 2. DotA 2 combines the real-time strategy element of traditional top-down perspective, while also incorporating the leveling and itemization system of a role-playing video game. Players are pitted against each other as two distinct factions called the Radiant and the Dire. The Radiant is a faction based at the southwest corner of the map, while the Dire is a faction based at the northeast corner. This will be an exclusive tournament because we invited top teams in the Philippines.
Last but not the least is StarCraft 2. StarCraft 2 is considered as a micro battle that tests each individuals in both strategies and skills. This event will be also an invitational that lets you see your favorite top players in the Philippines nowadays.
