It’s such a great news for Thai gamers. Rapture Gaming and Comp Gamer decided to co-operate to announce a brand new gaming festival in Thailand, and “The Games Xpo 2012” is the name of this event. At April 23rd, there’s a TGX12 Press Conference at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC). There’s a lot of press and people, who involve with gaming industries, pay attention and interesting in this event.

There are two celebrities in gaming industries and IT society, Cee Chatpawee from ceemeagain.com and P’Wan from fpsthailand.com (and he is MiTH founder in a while). Both of them are moderators of this press conference.

Mr. Herman Ng, CEO of Rapture Gaming, gave some speech “The Games Xpo began in 2009 at Singapore and started to expand in other countries in South East Asia in this year. Thailand is the first place to start the event in South East Asia, and I think Thailand has lot of preparedness about cybercafés, gaming facilitators and attitude of eSports players, all of those would make a big change and growth up for Thai gaming industries and that’s the reason why I’m interested in Thailand.”

Santi Lothong, Executive Editor of Compgamer, also have a statement about co-operate of this event. “The most important part of us is eSports competition in this region. It’s another dream and big move for Thai gamers for a long time. In the past, it did not matter how big it was but it was just local event. Never ever had a sight of interesting from foreigners. Until I met Mr. Herman, and we had a little talk about Thai people need some competitions like this and he would like to make it too and this is how it began with this idea. People might be questioning how to define the greatest. I would say something about it. The greatest of competition isn’t prize reward, but it’s competitor. Some of competitions are just other plastic cups for winners, but the important is how they feel when they realize they are world champion now.”

There would be the great event for gamers with WCG inside of The Games Xpo 2012 event and others. Here’s the list of activities in this event.

- Exhibition: There will be more than 20 of gaming booths and the content is all about game online.

- Competition: World Cyber Games 2012 competition would be different from the past with more than 400 units of computer.

- Cosplay Contest: cross – dressing from game online characters with pool prize 50,000 Baht.

- Game Market: Focus on game online. Game providers would bring some rare and premium items to sell in those days. 

The Games Xpo 2012 will be started on 13th – 15th July 2012 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
