Result: Dota 2 Pride Challenge - Awake.Armgd delivers Victory for Thailand over Vietnam
Awake.Armgd took down Gameware in yet another decisive game 5 for the Pride Challenge to secure the first prize and the pride for their country.
GAME 1:
RinBin vs. MiTH.TRUST
RinBin's Sven did not take advantage of the space given to him to farm freely at the bottom lane. He was not farming well but still went greedy and opted to buy a Hand of Midas instead of a Black King Bar or other team fight-oriented items. As soon as he got his Hand of Midas, MiTH.TRUST immediately applied pressure on his lane and started getting a lot of kills on the board that made it hard for him and the rest of the team to catch up on items, even with a Hand of Midas on Sven's inventory. With the other lanes not doing so well, it was up to him to keep them in the game but failed to deliver.
During the course of the game, RinBin forced a few team fights and overcommitted on kills that easily gave Magnus the opening to catch 3-4 heroes in his Reverse Polarity. With that, the burden was too deep for RinBin to make a comeback.
GAME 2: Thailand leads 1-0
1st.VN | CyberPink vs. MiTH.Trust
MiTH.TRUST's lack of disables and burst damage made it easy for 1st.VN|CP to dominate in the early game, notably in the tri-lane where most of the blood came from.
As the game progressed, 1st.VN|CP's global line-up came into play as they were able to easily get kills all over the map, that forced MiTH.TRUST to group up early on. But despite that, 1st.VN|CP's lineup was just too strong for them to handle and eventually, 1st.VN|CP built up their lead and never looked back.
GAME 3: Series tied 1-1
1st.VN | CyberPink vs. Tell Me Why
TMY went for a greedy lineup of four hard carries, sending Juggernaut in the support role, while 1st.VN|CP's lineup was not built to be aggressive and to punish any lane which was bad news for them as they could not apply pressure to the lanes and TMY became comfortable. With that said, TMY was able to outfarm 1st.VN|CP and they were able to overpower them throughout the game and eventually forced them to tapout.
GAME 4: Thailand leads 2-1
Tell Me Why vs GameWare
The game started out quite evenly for both teams as they were just exchanging kills and tower downs. However, TMY was unable to contest Clinkz's farm as he was able to farm up his Orchid of Malevolence which made the lives of TMY very hard, specifically their Queen of Pain and Anti-Mage who rely on their blinks as escape mechanism.
As the game progressed, GameWare was able to outfarm TMY and quickly destroyed all of their outer towers that pressured TMY very early.
TMY held on to the game with Anti-Mage and Queen of Pain catching up on farm but it was too late as GameWare already did the damage and at the end, they could no longer stand their ground and GameWare just overpowered them.
GAME 5: Series tied 2-2
Awake.Armaggeddon vs. GameWare
With both teams deciding to abandon the hard lane, normally it was up to Phantom Lancer and Anti-Mage to carry their team come mid to late, but that was not the story of the game.
GameWare decided to lane Magnus in the side lane that basically did not work for him and forced to spend his time farming in the jungle that just delayed his Blink Dagger which was a crucial item for him to have. Awake.Armgd's was able to take advantage of that, they grouped up early and easily took down towers and won team fights that gave their team a lot of gold and experience.
With Phantom Lancer being the only bright light for GameWare, even a perfectly timed Reverse Polarity could no longer change the outcome of the game as Awake.Armgd was just too farmed up to the point of he himself could no longer withstand Awake.Armgd's seige.
