Grand Finals of the FIFA Interactive World Cup Kicks Off
The grand finals of the biggest FIFA gaming tournament in the world the FIFA Interactive World Cup will get underway from 5th May in Madrid, Spain.
This year a record 2.5 million fifa gamers participated from all around the globe and only 24 of the best player made it to the grand finals.
Alfonso Ramos of Spain will be the favorite since he has won the FIWC in 2008 and 2012 and will be playing in his own country, while Bruce Grannec (winner of FIWC 2009) of France who just lost the last year's title in the final to Alfonso Ramos in penalties will surely be the biggest challenger.
Kai Wollin of Germany who got 3rd place in fiwc 2012 is also in the grand finals and will try to make it the finals this year. August Rosenmeier aged 16 of Denmark is the youngest gamer to make to make to the grand finals while Edizon Quiroga Forero aged 33 from Columbia is the oldest gamer to make it. Interestingly Columbia and Spain have the maximum 3 representatives in the final 24, Columbian gamers are Andres Botero,Daniel Rodriguez and Edizon Quiroga while Spainish gamers has Marc Arisa,Daniel Cordera and Alfonso ramos. From Asia, only 1 player has made it to the grand finals, Abdulaziz Alshehri of Saudi Arabia. When contacted before leaving for Madrid on saturday he told us "I will do my best to be first Asian player win the World Cup".
