MSIEvoGT.TnC are the first ever Champions of GMPGL Dota 2
MSIEvoGT.TnC made a statement to the Filipino Dota 2 scene on February 10 when they became the first ever champions of the Gigabyte Mineski Pro Gaming League (GMPGL) Dota 2 and took home a total of 5,000 Pesos (120 USD).
A total of 6 invited teams plus 2 teams from an online qualifier were originally set to take the stage last Sunday, and among these six invited teans were MSI EvoGT TNC, Mineski HyperX, TNC Gaming, DrmzLedSteelSeries, Neolution Philippines and Gangsters.
Unfortunately, Gangsters were unable to compete so 3 teams came from the online qualifiers instead and representing the qualifiers were M.I. Las Piñas Squids, Team Goss and Censored Blaque.
MSIEvoGT.TnC faced Mineski HyperX in the BO5 finals with a 1 win advantage but it seemed that their advantage did not matter as they handily dispatched Mineski HyperX in three games to nil, not allowing the latter any chance to gain momentum during the series.
Following the finals, DrmzLedSteelSeries and Neolution Philippines dropped into Class A where they will look to battle their way up to Class S again next month.
