Bagged the champion titles by Mineski Enderr in StarCraft II and team Mineski in DotA Allstars, Philippines gaming community has successfully gained attention from their allied and the respects from their nemeses.
Now, just next a few hours, Philippines gaming community will make the others pay attention by celebrating the biggest gaming event in Philippines, the Pinoy Gaming Festival (PGF), organized by Mineski Infinity and Rapture Gaming. The festival will take place from October 28th – 30th at SM North Edsa Cyberzone including the MPGL (Mineski Pro Gaming League) Season 3 Finals and WCG (World Cyber Games) Philippines 2011 Qualifiers, plus with two promotion events like Planking Group Exhibition first organized by Planking Pinas and the Cosplay contest.
Mineski Pro Gaming League (MPGL) is the ‘all for DotA’ competition in Philippines organized by Mineski. First released in 2010, with the ambitious aim to spur gamers and teams’ passion with DotA and turn Philippines DotA community into a powerhouse in region. Initially with only 16 teams in Manila, now the league is expanded to more than 120 teams in 3 different areas (Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao) throughout the country. This year, the PGF will host the MPGL Season 3 Final, to select the representative for Philippines to compete in SMM (Sendi Mutiara Multimedia) 2011 in Malaysia. “We will give our all for the finals! The top teams (MI and Exec) together with the champions from Visayas and Mindanao will always be a threat.” Justin "BigDogJ" Alm, manager of team Dreamz.Ledion, which is considered as the most potential team, with the unique playstyle and strategy, places the 3rd position in MPGL Luzon with 123 points, points their expectation in PGF.
The PGF will also be the stage to eliminate 8 individual participants in StarCraft II category including the champions from Mindanao and Visayas until the strongest will prevail after all. This one will be the representative for Philippines to take part in the World Cyber Games 2011 Grand Finals in Korea. There will be Mineski EnDerr – TGX 11 StarCraft II Champion, JaBiTo - the #1 ZenCraft Overall Rank, and the best StarCraft II players in Philippines will attend in the competition. Benedict ‘Mski.Dane’ Luis and Nicolo ‘Cncdo.Phaze’ Palacios are two nominations for the slot to go to Korea share how they prepare for the upcoming battle, “I am preparing by practicing as hard as I can though I feel it's insufficient because I can't play as much as I want to. I'll still do my best,” Mski.Dane said. “Lately I have been practicing with my clan Carnage and top players so that I could prepare myself for the WCG Grand Finals. Training camp was also initiated for me so that I could show the skills of the Bisaya at PGF.” Cncdo.Phaze also reveals his method.
The Planking Group Exhibition, organized by Planking Pinas and the Cosplay Exhibition, organized by Cosplay.ph will be featured in PGF, too. Planking is an activity that you must be in lying face down position with two hands touch side by side of your body in an unusual location. 3 teams will compete to each other to see which team will have the most amazing and creative group plank. The most creative team will be the winner and go back home with the reward worth of P30,000. For the Cosplay Exhibition, the participants will suit up as the DotA and StarCraft II characters. Especially, the famous international Cosplay Queen Alodia Gosiengfiao will be guest in the exhibition.
Just a few more hours, Philippines gaming community will pay their attention to the very first largest gaming festival in their country. It is also the opportunity for the community proves that they are day by day to become the powerful army that could dominate the SEA gaming scene now and maybe to the worldwide in future.
