Rapture Gaming Network was fortunate to catch an interview with one of the most famous DotA personalities in the Philippines. A girl gamer, shoutcaster and a friend, Ms. Bianca “Biancake” Yao!
RGN : Good Day! Please kindly introduce yourself to our international readers.
Biancake : Hi friends! I’m Bianca Yao, also known as "Biancake", 15 years old from Tondo, Manila, and a shoutcaster for Mineski.
RGN : So you're with Mineski? How did you end up with them and are you also a DotA Player?
Biancake : Yep, of course I am also a DotA Player. In fact, I am a former HappyFeet-Chix *Smiles*. I don’t really know the primary reason why I’m with Mineski; it was just so sudden. As far as I can remember it started when Mineski Dunoo asked me to be a shoutcaster.
RGN : That’s great. How did you get involved in DotA?
Biancake : I saw my brother and cousin playing a game with a green background and they were shouting ridiculously and I found them so stupid. Of course, I felt curious *Laughs* so I asked them how to play it. From there on I started to like the game.
RGN : So what is your primary role in the team? Do you have any favorite hero to pick?
Biancake : Originally, I played support, but when I was with HappyFeet-Chix, I started to play as the Tri-lane Hitter. Currently, I play Solo lane. I prefer to have a side lane for me to evade Ganks. For my favorite hero, there is WindRunner, Queen of Pain, Shadowfiend, and Night Stalker (PS. Please don’t ban this, friends!)
RGN : Great line-up you got there. So aside from playing and shoutcasting, what else makes Ms. Bianca Busy?
Biancake : I am into playing guitars nowadays. I wanted to imitate Sunghajung’s movements, haha. Also I would like to inform the public that yes, I am singing! I love singing, actually I do have the same voice as Hayley Williams *laughs* Just Kidding. But seriously, I do belong into a Choral Group.
RGN : As a female gamer, what can you say to the idealism that gaming is for the boys to dominate?
Biancake : Honestly speaking, it is almost impossible for a girl to dominate in the gaming scene. Maybe if some girls would persevere really hard, I think girls can cope up. ☺
RGN : So, what are your future plans as an individual and also as a gamer?
Binacake : I really want to have a career in shoutcasting. In fact, I am really enjoying my experience doing it. For my individual plans, as of now, I don’t have a clear plan yet for I am only on my 4th year high school.
RGN : Ms. Bianca, we do have a sets of question from our readers and your fans that they wanted to ask you. First of them is Ronnel Pangyarihan.
Ronnel: What are the conflicts and problems that you encounter in the eSports environment?
Biancake : Conflicts? If that is going to be the topic I do have a lot! Example of that is how you will act and approach the other.
RGN : Another question is from Lydajess Denolan.
Lyda : Do you think that a gamer is more appealing than the non-gamer?
Biancake : For me it’s a big yes! I prefer gamers over non-gamers. :)
RGN : Great news to those gamers out there! Next question is from Earlwin Libre from iZone125.Gigabyte
Earlwin : How was the experience shoutcasting with your partner Dunoo?
Biancake : It Is going good. I know there are lots of side comments, but Dunoo is a great partner. He has the patience in to teach me how to be a good shoutcaster. This also goes to the whole Mineski Family. They are all good to me, always giving advices, and guide me with what I am doing.
RGN : Great moves from Mineski as expected from an excellent organization. Last fan question is from Glenn Fresnosa.
Glenn : Did you experienced any trashtalk while playing in LAN? How did you deal with it?
Biancake : Yes of course, actually I am the roots of those trashtalk sometimes, most especially with my DotA mates in our shop in Tondo, DASIEREX. You’ll be punished heavily if you don’t trashtalk so well. It is even funnier that even though I don’t usually play with them at the moment. They still treat me as the Bianca that they used to know. But don’t get me wrong; trashtalking is a bad, look at what happened with xoxo barry, he got killed because of it. So I strongly suggest to everyone to avoid it.
RGN : Do you have any shoutout to your fans and to our beloved Rapture Gaming readers?
Biancake : This will take long okay? First of all I would like to thank Rapture Gaming for this interview. Also I would like to thank Jay Edrian Yao, Joy Yao; if it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t be in my present position.
