RGN: When did you start playing and competing DotA?

Sai: I started playing DotA 4 years ago and attended to compete six months later. The person who led me to DotA was my former teammate and also my first “DotA teacher”, he was Singlez. The first DotA team of mine was Elive including me, Singlez, NIXWATER, fidevn and mabuvn.

My Elive team at that time was newly established, but had achieved the performances beyond expectations, and went deep to the DotA tournaments at the beginning of DotA time in Vietnam, especially in the semi-final World Cyber Games HCM city and just gave up with team Final Fantasy, which was Yuna’s team.

I have been involved in many DotA teams like Gmax, StarsMT, Masta, FF and SiOL.

 

RGN: When you played DotA, what is your position?

Sai: I played in many different roles, from hard-carry, semi-carry to supporter. As captain of Masta, I was successful as a solo-mid semi-carry, and my team was then a counterweight of StarsBoba at that time in Vietnam. However, later I was well known more as a supporter.

RGN: What is your best memory with DotA?

Sai: It was a moment when FF became the champion of Garena 4Kings Championship 2011. At that time, our team did not have good form and had suffered a lot of skepticism and criticism from the community. In that tournament, the hope of Ho Chi Minh City – StarsBoba – was eliminated. The pressure placed on the shoulders of all five members of us when we met Skynet in the final was enormous. But finally we were the winner!

 

RGN: Why did you switch to League of Legends when your DotA team has been very strong? How did the transition from DotA to LOL happen?

Sai: Late in 2010, Garena has introduced us to League of Legends. After tried some matches, we did really love this game. It was fully consistent with our play style, so we decide to play both DotA and LoL for a while. And when we had to choose one game to compete in WCG 2011, we selected LoL. The transition from DotA to LoL came quite natural when all members were supportive of this department. The most important are all of us still stand in the same team.

My first impression with LoL was rather like animated graphics, very stylish and beautiful. Music in game was great, especially in draft mode. At first, we played at the North America server. Due to the low quality internet, the ping was high and the delay was from 0.5 to 1 second. Later that, we played at the SEA server.

 

RGN: It was said that SiOL has had the vision that the LoL would develop strong in Vietnam and that the reason why the team got many successes. What do you think about this?

Sai: I don’t deny that. To succeed, everyone should be able to predict and have real talent. However, can you dare to give away the game which made your success to bet with a brand new game? Success is the result of an effort to process. We’ve done it and have got successes today.

 

RGN: Can you introduce the members of SiOL team?

Sai: Thori-NIXWATER, covering solo mid. We can say he is the best solo-mid player on a SEA server at the present time. All AP champion in Nix’s hand have become very scary, especially LeBlanc.

Itachi, solo-top player. With the special play style, he made his name proud with champion such as Udyr, Galio and Jax.

Zhaojun a.k.a Junie, a jungler and also in-game leader who led the team play. His forte is playing champion Lee Sin and Fiddlestick.

The last one is Et, the carrier of SiOl. He is famous in Vietnamese eSports community from DotA, Dday to LoL. He is strong with Mal’Ganis in Dday, Morphling in DotA and Ezreal, Graves, Vayne in LoL.

 

RGN: What is your hobby?

Sai: I love jogging. I usually jog in the park in the morning. Running is a habit and it doesn’t need much time. According to me, gamers always need to succeed because the tournament consumes much strength and are very stressful. In addition to game, any activity also requires health, so to me, running is very important.

RGN: You said you are talented in convincing. So can you tell me about your success in convincing?

Sai: My greatest success was to persuade my girlfriend to allow me to participate in gaming competition. It’s probably the most difficult convincing time. To get success in persuade anyone, you need to be aware of the object’s psychological, choose the right time and use actions to increase convincing strength for yourself.
