RGN Elite FIFA League Week 10 Review
Hibidi and KunKun picked up big wins to move to within striking distance of the top two. Hibidi strolled to a straightforward win over KirosZ, while KunKun edged out his compatriot Hakumenfox in the afternoon’s second game. The two victors now have 17 points, and are just two points behind 2nd placed El Rey.

In August, the reverse fixture between hibidi and KirosZ was decided in stoppage time, and the Singaporean was determined to avoid a repeat of that this time round. Hibidi sprung off the blocks, dominating possession and creating numerous chances.
The opener duly arrived in the 7th minute via the head of Karim Benzema, and more pressure from hibidi resulted in a second goal on 32 minutes. KirosZ replied almost immediately with a goal from a swift counterattack, but hibidi held his nerve and sealed the deal with a 3rd goal from the penalty spot in the second half.

Hakumenfox came into this game with his usual defensive mentality, and opted for a 541 formation against his compatriot. As expected, his opponent dominated the game in midfield and created chance after chance.
KunKun set up shop outside Hakumenfox’s penalty area, but had to wait until late in the first half to open the scoring. It was as scrappy a goal as you would see all season; KunKun’s initial shot was deflected, before the second one was parried by Casillas and finally tucked away by Benzema.
Despite going a goal behind, Hakumenfox stuck with his 5-4-1 formation, and the second half played out in similar fashion, and KunKun eventually doubled his lead in the 83rd minute. Hakumenfox then grabbed a late goal off a set piece to set up a nervy finale to the contest, but KunKun held on to take a thoroughly deserved win.

With victory over the weekend, KunKun finds himself in the top half of the table for the first time this season; a remarkable achievement for a player whom many thought would be fighting to stave off relegation after the first few weeks. Hibidi’s win also sets the Singaporean in good stead for next weekend’s glamour tie against El Rey, so be sure to tune in to Sunday’s RGN Champions’ League broadcast from 3pm onwards.
