Team Nakama’s five pillars will never fall
They may hail from different walks of life but their shared passion for gaming has ultimately brought this unlikely five together. Calling themselves Team Nakama (or NKM for short) after the Japanese word “nakama” which means comrade, the competitive gaming outfit is definitely one to watch for the future after successfully assembling a fine mix of seasoned veterans and prodigious entrants. Currently playing in the SuddenAttack Finest Online Championship April Edition, in which the team recently dispatched Team OneVIP in a thrilling 7-7 tie breaker, representative Ismail “SmilexIsmail” speaks to us about the initial troubles in bringing the team together and its direction for the year 2013.
“The team was originally known as ‘[C]omplicated!’ with Faris “xVinDicTiVe” the leader. But the team had too many issues, internally and externally, and that caused the team to be temporarily inactive,” he says, recalling the trying times. “Even after a strong finish at the Aloha LAN, Clementi Singapore tournament, the team line up had to change as two players had to leave due to personal commitments. We were devastated but then a miracle happened when Amanda “CrAzyBaByy” and Tu “XRise4EveR” Wei Jie joined the team.” Pointing out that if it wasn’t for the cohesiveness forged by Amanda, the “nakama” in the team would have probably not existed as it is today.
The team, which now comprises of Amanda “CrAzyBaByy” Lim – the team’s sniping leader, Ismail “SmilexIsmail” Abd Wahab – the co-sniper commander, Muhammad Faris “xVinDicTiVe” Zaharudin – second in command and support, Tu “xRise4EveR” Wei Jie, the team’s primary support alongside Zulkifli “ZuLZomBiE” Md Aroon, currently holds over nearly 20 notable personal achievements between them and is now looking to add many more as a collective.
Riding on their motto of “Our five pillars will never fall”, Ismail believes that the uniquely tight-knitted group has a lot to achieve this year, and that they will be gunning for gold regardless of the nature or size of the tournament. “As long as we sit on top of the pyramid, we’ll be happy enough,” laughs the commander, “that’s the goal this year. We also aim to beat top teams in Sudden Attack such as YOLO[SG] and wN.MKT[MY].” An aim that Ismail believes his team will achieve with their strong combative, individual skill sets.
“Our best aspect of our game is our firepower. We may not have the most in-sync coordination or the best sense-play, but when it comes to one against one battles, we usually come out tops.” And with players such as XRise4EveR on his team, one of the highest performing headshot-shot ratio in recent Sudden Attack competitions, others will be naturally disposed to agree as well. For SmilexIsmail himself, he’s definitely one to watch for sniping and ‘nading’.
Building on their individual talents, the commander finds that his team will be able to move from strength to strength. Drawing on the experience of the previous members of #NothinG (Faris), Xtremist (Amanda), and #Boplay (Zulkifi), the group of five is well and ready to challenge for silverware this year—beginning of course with the Finest Online Championship.
Talking about his team’s habitual taunting in-game, Ismail reckons that this will be something his opponents will have to get used to. “We’re kind of ‘hyper’ when it comes to this sort of thing (taunting),” says the candid sniper, “to those who may face us in the future; do not take it too hard as it’s just for fun! We don’t actually mean what we say!” In any case, what still works will not be fixed as one can safely assume that Ismail and gang will continue to “manner indulge” their opponents so long as their team enjoys it and they continue kicking butt.
“Our five pillars will never fall!—that is our motto. We may all lead different lifestyles but we will always stand by each other and support one another to overcome obstacles!”

I thought RGN always gave info of the best teams in all games? But this? You guys should really get info from the best SA teams in SG/MY to get a juicier story to capture the audience attention.
20 Noticeable achievement??? I think you got the wrong info. I have been to almost all the compy in SG but i dont see them get top 3 at any of the major compy. Maybe 'xVinDicTiVe' won some compy in the past. And for xRise4EveR honestly speaking i don't even see him in compy scene.
Hi kss, I am xVinDicTiVe..
"The team, which now comprises of Amanda “CrAzyBaByy” Lim – the team’s sniping leader, Ismail “SmilexIsmail” Abd Wahab – the co-sniper commander, Muhammad Faris “xVinDicTiVe” Zaharudin – second in command and support, Tu “xRise4EveR” Wei Jie, the team’s primary support alongside Zulkifli “ZuLZomBiE” Md Aroon, currently holds over nearly 20 notable personal achievements between them and is now looking to add many more as a collective."
It clearly states personal achievements and not team achievements.. I hope this clear your confusion.. Do take note, the article clearly stated "previous members of #NothinG (Faris), Xtremist (Amanda), and #Boplay (Zulkifi)"
xRise4EveR went to compy scene as Zapers or is it Zaperz in the past.
I am not here for argument or whatsoever. I am here just to clear your doubts.
Thanks for taking time to read our team profile anyway..
Cheers !
good luck
nice game
