A twitter post by Evil Geniuses CEO Alexander Garfield has announced the release of Greg "IdrA" Fields from their Starcraft 2 Roster, signalling the end of his 3-year run with the organization.
The twitter post announced that the organization has released IdrA after due consideration, citing the main reasons for his removal being that EG was a company that "would not be supportive of anyone who does not show due respect and appreciation for the community that makes everything we do possible".
IdrA has been known throughtout the Starcraft2 community to be very blunt and direct with his opinions of the game he plays, and the teams that he pits himself against. These bouts of frank frustration have been aptly named the "IdrA Rage" by some players, and his episodes of anger have been received by the community with mixed reactions, mostly negative.
Mr. Garfield cited that IdrA's attitude towards gamers and other teams was generally tolerated, since he believed that EG was a "players-first team", and that the individuality and personality that each player brought to the team was essential for keeping the community happy, and the scene entertaining.
The final word from the EG Ceo stated that even though they tolerated IdrA's manner in tournaments and on stream, they noted that "there's a very big difference between a player being disrespectful to an opponent in a ladder match, and a player being disrespectful to the entire community of people who, via their own enthusiasm and passion for the entertainment product he creates, actually make his profession possible".
