It is still fresh in the minds of Astana Dragons on how Fnatic crushed them 0-2 in the Mad Catz Invitational two weeks ago; however, TECHLABS was a whole new different story. Astana had their sweet revenge when they defeated Fnatic 2-1 in the grand finals of the TECHLABS at Kiev. The event was held at the Kiev Cybersports Arena.
Astana's TECHLABS journey began when the team won the online qualifier a couple of weeks ago. While the other finalist, Fnatic, got a direct invite to the event.
Astana had a great opening as they overcame Fnatic 16-7 in de_inferno_se. But Fnatic was able to tie the series. They went 11-16 in de_mirage_ce. The series was then forced into a decider round. The final round was all in Astana’s hands. They won 16-5 in de_nuke_se. Astana's Dauren 'AdreN' Kystaubayev, and his squad sent the black and orange squad home.
Astana took home $3,500 and the team officially qualified for the grand finals in Moscow while Fnatic received $1,500.
The TECHLABS Finals will be held later this year at the capital of Russia, Moscow.
