RGN Elite Week 4 Post-Match Analysis
Only two matches were played on match day 4. eMaster.Vin made up ground on the league leaders with a 2-1 win over MiTH.KirosZ, while Flash.El Rey dropped his first points of the season against Nonii9.
Flash.El Rey 0-0 Nonii9
This was a game that was downright chaotic. Neither player established any control in midfield, and both had trouble stringing 5 passes together without losing the ball. El Rey ended the game with 81% pass accuracy, nonii9 with only 80%.
Despite the chaos, this was a game the neutral would have found thoroughly entertaining. Chances were created at both ends, and many would have been put away on another day.
El Rey set out to dominate the game with his usual high pressing game, but nonii9’s defensive solidity and quick counter attacks exposed many of the Singaporean’s frailties. The Thai player spurned two glorious chances to take the lead in the second half, through Modric and Ronaldo. El Rey had several clear-cut chances as well, but at the end of the day, a draw was a fair result between these two players.

eMaster.Vin 2-1 MiTH.KirosZ
In Saturday’s other game, KirosZ missed the chance to score his first points of the season after Vin’s Real Madrid rallied to stage a come-from-behind win. An uncharacteristically slack back pass from Malaysia’s defending WCG champion gifted KirosZ’s Oscar a simple tap-in to make it 1-0. Unfortunately for the Thai player, he was unable to build on that lead, and Vin slowly crept back into the game, equalizing minutes before half time.

The second half was a classic midfield battle, with neither side creating many clear-cut chances. The game looked to be headed to a draw, until KirosZ’s defence failed to clear a corner, allowing Benzema to settle himself and smash a shot into the top corner.

Vin is now unbeaten in 3 games, and will look to continue climbing up the table when he meets the league leader El Rey next weekend.
