TI3 Finals Recap: Alliance & Na'Vi Grand Finalist

 

 

Who's the winner of this year's The International event? Well if you don't know it's none other than team Alliance and their all-stars Swedish lineup! Beated out of the Winner's Bracket earlier in the tournament,  Na'Vi had to work hard to get out of the Loser's Bracket so as to avenge the 2-0 loss to  Alliance in that faithful WB match up. 

 

It was a fantastic grand finals.   Alliance dominated the first match after only 30 minutes, exploiting Na'Vi's risky draft which failed miserably. However in the second match of the grand finals, Na'Vi, with their trusty Alchemist play had took the game to  Alliance's base and forced them to call GG.

The score was tied at 1-1 and Na'Vi took down the third game convincingly after taking down  Alliance's base rax "like a tornado" as mentioned by IceFrog. That was truly a breathtaking moment. In the forth match, Alliance managed to break the   Na'Vi momentum and crushed their opponents to level the series at 2-2.
 

The deciding match was won with a massive  Alliance's split push and which disrupted  Na'Vi's game as they had no choice but to defend three different lanes. As luck would have it,  Na'Vi was unable to equal such an aggressive march leaving  Alliance to beat away at the Ancient belonging to the Ukrainian powerhouse. At the end, Alliance turned the game around and won it all! And by a margin of 3-2 it is one of the closest TI3 finals ever!

 

 

Na'Vi has thus far earned two second palce finishes at The International event after being crowned the champion in the very first season. As a top team  Na'Vi shows that it is one of the most consistent in the business. Although disappointed that their team will not be crowned champions for the second time yet, loyal fans of  Na'Vi will be proud of what their team has achieved at TI3.
