ELC June 6 Recap
The familiar faces of Zenith
The last round of qualifiers ran today and 12 teams took to the chopping block to vie for the final two spots at the grand finals, to be held tomorrow. Stabbing peddle to the metal and at full throttle, the Best-of-1 series proved very testing indeed as several teams edged close games to advance to latter stages.
In the mix however, firm favorites Zenith beat out infinitely less experienced teams Secret Water (in Round 1), Origin Gaming (in Round 2) and Kentucky’s Fried Sperm (in Round 3) in emphatic fashion to secure a spot in the grand finals with another bookmarker’s favorite Team Duskbin, who took out DKC (in Round 1), Scrub Gamers (in Round 2) and DC (in round 3).
In what was a speedy day at the tourney, proceedings moved fast and furious with the event beginning at 10am and ending somewhat two hours ahead of schedule. With four no-shows it was quick resolution to a fairly predictable line up of games. What this will mean though is that Zenith and Duskbin will join MyonMyon, iSg.Vindicate, Ipod2, Netolic.SG, Insidious Idol, and AMGD.First Departure to complete the roster of eight who will represent Singapore against the best of SEA.
Our equipment looking spiffy
