Clan W|nDs is a pro-gaming clan that was formed in 2004 to nurture and house the most talented FIFA players in Malaysia and Singapore. The clan’s achievements in the international pro-gaming scene have since been recognized by its peers and rivals worldwide.
W|nDs was initially started by Nigel Goh, who was a competitive gamer himself. Seeing the number of promising gaming enthusiasts who congregated at these tournaments, Nigel saw the possibility of improving the level of professional gaming in Malaysia by consolidating talent into a singular group. W|nDs was thus formed, and has dominated every FIFA tournaments since.
W|nDs actually stands for Winning with an Irresistable, No-nonsense, and Delightful Style. It is the code that their members abide by whenever they enter competitions. They strive to identify and nurture the future leaders of the local FIFA community. Currently, they have 15 members in both Malaysia and Singapore.
W|nDs players attend the major FIFA tournaments in Malaysia and Singapore, and regularly emerge as the champions. Their greatest achievement is finishing 4th in the WCG Grand Final in 2005, with former member Si Jali attaining the honors.
In the previous year, W|nDs managed to pull off a clean sweep of all the major domestic competitions, emerging as the champions of the Cyberfusion, WCG and the CEL Games for FIFA 09. In the WCG.MY final, W|nDs Vin defeated his former clan mate Si Jali in a thrilling final round. In the CEL Games, Vin edged is clan mate A13x to claim yet another title. It was not a clean sweep of titles for Vin though, as A13x was the first ever Cyberfusion Champion. For FIFA Online 2, it is the same old story as far as the domestic scene is concerned, with W|nDs having won all the domestic competitions so far.
2009 was also a milestone year for W|nDs in the international scene, with W|nDs Vin finishing 4th in the Hyundai Cup and 2nd in the One Asia Cup that year. W|nDs Vin and W|nDs Rei, the two Malaysian representatives for WCG FIFA 09, also managed to reach the group stages in the 2009 grand finals. Club leader W|nDs Loon4tic managed to bag a Bronze Medal in the FIFA 09 Asian WCG as well. A record number of W|nDs members represented their country last year – namely Vin, A13x, Loon4tic, Rei and Lleonu.
W|nds also boasts an impressive alumni, with several notable players having been part of the clan. Founder W|nDs Gel was multiple WCG champion; former member Xtr3me3 (now of TiTans) is also a multiple WCG champion in Singapore and is currently a top player for FIFA Online 2. Another ex-W|nDs member from Singapore, Blitzrooney (currently a member of XTC), represented Singapore for FIFA online 2 competitions. Last but not least, Si Jali, who left the clan in 2008, has 2 Asian WCG titles under his belt.
2010 promises to be another exciting year ahead for W|nDs, as they look to dominate the competitions ahead for both FIFA 10 and FIFA Online 2. To find out more about W|nDs, and get the latest lowdown on their success, check out their website HERE
