ProA.gmAfter being 2-0 down, 1st.VN won in the next 2 maps which boosted the confidence within the team. This is one of the most exciting CS matches of the year. Both 1st.VN and ProA.gm played well as they were with full line-ups and 1st.Vn is strong enough to win the AIG qualifier but there are still chances for ProA.gm to show their worth in the upcoming tournaments. Somehow Northern CS Teams improved by a huge leap as time goes by.

The first 2 maps are not very exciting with the results 16-4; 16-3 in favor of ProA.gm. It seems like 1st.VN are still not adapted to playing at the cybercafé. However, for the next 2 maps, 1st.Vn never looked back. The results were 16-7 ; 16-8 for de_train and de_nuke. The longer time 1st.VN played, the smoother they had in every rush, defense, and controlled all situations almost perfectly.

One of ProA.gm commented that they had started very well, but had been not strong enough mentally to keep up with 1st.VN after the break. And the last map de_dust2 resulted in 16-14 for 1st.VN.

In the next day, 1st.VN played against the Legends team for the winner of the Igame Online League. Similar to the day before, 1st.Vn had lost the first map quite easily before coming back up to defeat Legends in the next 2 maps in the best-of-3. There’s nothing sweeter than coming back from the brink of defeat to bag 2 titles in 2 days. The MVP was definitely Zack, one of the most consistent CS player with his incredible skill to get the titles for 1st.VN.

2 days later, the cracks were starting to show during the WCG VN 2009. Once again 1st.VN met Legends, this time in the quarter-finals. Somehow 1st.VN were caught cold and Legend came away with a convincing 2-1 win and knocked 1st.VN out of WCG VN. Legend went on to win the WCG championship title when they brought down ProA.gm in the finals.

This is a disappointment for the ardent supporters of 1st.VN, and speculation continues for 1st.Vn’s end of domination of CS in the VN community. Others say that it’s a turning point in the colorful history of 1st.VN.

First WCG Vietnam Championship for 1st.VN in 2008

RGN has caught up with leader ingame of 1st.VN, Xuan Ho 'Robocop' Le. He shared his POV about losing Legends in the quarter match.

robocopThey are a professional team and they had trained even harder than us before this tournament. Our team now is lack of training.

Everyone has many personal commitments. We tried to train together at least 2 times per week and maybe it's still not enough to win them. I think this will able to be a good thing for our team because we cannot stay on top without training hard.

In additional, there's a new player who joined us less than 20 hours before we depart for Hanoi. Our teamwork is not working out the way we like it to. Even on the final day, we still cannot get used to the PC, and furthermore it’s quite hard to configure the LCD. Meanwhile, we don't like to be here as it’s not comfortable at all for playing.

But anyway, no matter what, there are no excuses for losing. We will sit down and discuss the direction of the team once we are back in Saigon. And we shall definitely be back on top.
