What is it like to play games competitively?
The feeling of winning over others, the satisfaction of doing what you
really like to do and achieving the goals you’ve set. I like the adrenaline
rush during tournaments and putting up a good show for the spectators. It
always comes down to doing what you do best and playing the game that makes
you happy.
What are your goals in gaming?
Winning every tournament I choose to join would be for starters but the goal
to achieve for me will always be going pro which means getting paid for
playing. I am currently studying Computer Games Development in APIIT/UCTI,
so in the future I would like to give back what I’ve learned and experienced
in e-sports to the community by staying in the scene.
How do you draw a balance between gaming and your daily life?
Class usually starts in the morning and ends in the afternoon/evening, so
gaming is usually at night and on the weekends for me. Usually nearing a
major tournament, I will always put more time for practicing and leave other
casual games alone. That 1 month or so will only be concentrated on training
but still remembering about the college work and of course time for my
friends.
Do you have any advice to our readers on how to play the game and approach aming in general?
If you want to be good in a game, you firstly sharpen your basics and then
analyze your gameplay. Demos of others are usually easy to get nowadays for
any games, so use the opportunity to watch and learn from the better
players, you can learn a few tricks and improve them to suit yourself. If
you are really into competitive gaming, I would like to say set a goal and
maybe a timeline to achieve it, don’t give up so easily, play hard and
strive on to achieve what you really want. When you’ve reached the top,
don’t ever slow down because it is always easier to reach the top and harder
to stay up there. E-sports is a healthy thing to do and I hope people out
there realize how big it is getting now. But always remember to have fun
when it comes to gaming.
