After a hugely successful first outing, Indonesia’s biggest gaming exhibition is back! The Indonesia Game Show (IGS) 2012, cordially organized by Gamestation Magazines, Mediatama BinaKreasi and Rapture Gaming, will take form at the Assembly Hall JCC Senaya, Jakarta, on the 12 – 14 October 2012. Boasting several high profile tournaments as well as an impressive mix of gaming related activities ranging from mobile gaming competitions, seminars and gatherings; the IGS will be the video game expo to reckon with.
Central to the event are the internationally acclaimed eSporting tournaments that will go on show at the exhibition. With three major competitions; the World Cyber Games (WCG) 2012, Electronic Sport World Cup (ESWC) 2012, and The Games Expo (TGX): Road to Malaysia 2012 qualifiers, as well as many more to boot, the IGS promises to take the game to everyone. Confirmed in the lineup are several top-notch titles such as CS Online and Crossfire (for WCG), FIFA 12, Tekken, Point Blank, and DotA (for ESWC) as well as the still unreleased Dota 2 (for TGX). In addition, the visitors or the less hardcore gamers can engage in egaming competitions held on mobile platforms, and publisher operated tournaments for games such as Shadow Company,, Megaxus and plenty more.
Winners of the various major tournaments can expect to be sent packing to foreign lands of interest will they will do battle with the best of the best at the respective competition grand finals; China (for WCG 2012), France (for ESWC 12) and Malaysia (for TGX 12), on top of the standard flair of incredibly attractive cash and noncash prizes.
Gaming aside, the event is touted as being the go-to event for everything gaming in Indonesia, with organizers also looking to ramp up and drum up support for local game publishers, provide seminars and conferences for budding game developers, while supporting the country’s gaming hardware industry. One of the highlights here would certainly be the Talk Show, which will feature world renown developer, Mr. Shuji Utsumi, founding member of Sony Computer Entertainment America, and creator of “Crash Bandicoot”, “Sakura Wars”, and “Kingdom Hears”.
And as if that wasn’t enticing enough, the three day expo will also host the Gamestation Game Developer Awards and Animonstar’s Cosplay competition (which boasts a grand prize of RP 10,000,000), both of which will be enlivened by a slew of live performances from bands such as Blink, Supergirlies, Tina with D girls, and many more.
So head on down to the Assembly Hall JCC Senaya come October 12 – 14 for there will be no better time and place to get your gaming fix for the year! Be enlightened, amazed, in awe and thrilled as the events of the IGS will look to captivate you no matter how big or small a gamer you are.
