Kingston HyperX, Kingston Technology’s flagship brand of elite computer gaming hardware, is commemorating its 10th anniversary this year with a massive Starcraft II tournament to boot. Given the brand’s longstanding relation with the eSports, the handsomely elaborate competition to mark the momentous day will come as no surprise, what could possibly surprise observers and fans alike though is the scale—a free to play tournament boasting unlimited registrants and a US$15,000 cash cake for those brave enough to step up to the plate.

The tournament will feature a total of 16 players in the playoffs phase, half of which will contest as invited professionals handpicked by the organizers themselves. The reminding eight slots will be open to the top performing players from the open category. Beginning 17th September 2012 (Monday), registration for the open half will commence, so mark your calendars folks. In anticipation of what could be an excessively positive response, HyperX has promised round the clock tournament support for all participants. In addition, non-competitors can get a front row seat on the action with the regular broadcast coverage of games.

The top four players to emerge from the playoff round of 16 will be sent to the City of Sin, Las Vegas, to play for the ultimate cash prizes of US$15,000. So if you think you have what it takes, or perhaps if you just want to try your luck, pen your registration as soon as it opens because anyone can register and anything can happen!

Kingston HyperX has been a longtime supporter of eSports with professional outfits as Evil Geniuses, SK Gaming, Isurus Gaming, Mineski, Navi, and Xeria, some of the many teams around the world sponsored by them.
