Tournament Rules

  1. Knockout, Best of 1 format, Single elimination
  2. Best of 3 format from semi-finals onwards
  3. Host and client will be determined by bracket drawing
  4. The host will be the player whose name appears first in the brackets. Eg. In A vs B, A is the host
  5. Scores at the end of 90 minutes of normal time (including injury time) will determine the winner of each match
  6. If scores are tied at the end of normal time, players will create a new game and play until the first goal is scored. The winner of the tie will be the player who scores the ‘golden goal’.
  7. The host of the remade game will be the host of the original game

 

Points system

Players will be awarded points based on how their respective standings at the end of each cup

  • 1st: 10 points
  • 2nd: 8 points
  • 3rd and 4th: 5 points each
  • 5th-8th: 2 points each

 

Based on points accumulated, the top players at the end of each Open Cup season will be promoted to the FIFA Champions’ League

Game Settings

Team selection: Club and International. Both players may select the same team

Game Mode: Online – Online Friendlies

Game Difficulty: Legendary

Controls: Any

Team Level: Any

Game Speed: Normal

Half Length: 6 Minutes

Squads: Online

Weather: Dry (Day or Night) [The player in possession at kick off must pause and request a mutual quit in the event of rainy or snowy conditions]

 

Custom Tactics: Allowed

Custom Formations: Not Allowed – Players may check their opponent’s formations via match ratings in game

Custom Set Pieces: Not Allowed – The screen will flash black when a custom set piece is being selected

 

Injuries: Off

Bookings: On

Offside: On

Handball: Off                                                                        

Subs on bench: 7

Controller Settings: Any, except for:

Defending: Tactical

 

In-Game Regulations

Score reporting

The player who lost the match is responsible for reporting the final score to the game admin. Failing which, the offending player will be banned for the subsequent 2 Open Cups.

 

If the losing player does not report the score, the winning player must report the score to the game admin with a screenshot of the result.

 

Screenshots

Both players are to take screenshots of the final score and send them to the game admin in the event of a score dispute

 

Disconnections

Should a disconnection occur, both players are to confirm the score at the point of the disconnection, create a new game, and play out the remainder of the match.

  • Eg. If the game disconnects at 65 minutes, the remade game will be played until 25 minutes sharp.

 

Pausing and Tactical Changes

 

A player may only pause the game under these conditions:

  1. When the ball is out of play (corners, free kicks, throw-ins, goal kicks, etc.)
  2. When the ball is in play, a player may pause only if he has possession in his own half.
  3. Immediately after a goal is scored, during a celebration or goal replay cinematic.

 

Unsportsmanlike Conduct

 

Time wasting is not allowed. Any player deemed to be time wasting(after the game admins have reviewed video footage) will be awarded a 3-0 loss in the offending game.

 

Time wasting is defined as such:

  • Retaining possession for an unreasonable length of time with the sole purpose of protecting a lead
  • A clear lack of ambition to score
  • Excessive passes being made in a player’s own half. This is not allowed even if scores are level at that point

Players are encouraged to record their matches for use as evidence in timewasting disputes

 

 

Player administration

Reporting times

All players must check in by commenting in the RGN Cup Facebook group (group invitations will be sent via email to confirmed registrants) from 9.30am – 10am on tournament days

 

Players who are late in reporting will be immediately disqualified from the tournament at 10.01am sharp

 

Tournament schedule

  • 10am: First round (Round of 32)
  • 10.30am: Second round (Round of 16)
  • 11am: Quarter-finals
  • 11.30am: Semi-finals
  • 12.30pm: Final

 

Prize Money

 

The winner of each cup will be awarded 100 SGD, and will be contacted by the game marshal at the end of the tournament
