Unveiled recently in a press release by the organizers of the World Cyber Games Inc. (WCG) was the official line up of games for the World Cyber Games 2012. Detailed in the article were two official games, Cross Fire and FIFA 12, as well as two promotional game titles, Counter-Strike Online and the World of Tanks. Expressing his excitement in the release was Brad Lee, CEO of World Cyber Games Inc., who was cited saying, “We are excited to unveil the game titles for the WCG 2012 Grand Final, which are the world’s most popular titles across every genre in competitive gaming today.”

The first of the two official games announced for the Grand Finals, which is slated to be held in Kunshan International Exposition & Convention Center, China, from November 29th to December 2nd, is Cross Fire, a free to play first person shooter (FPS) developed by NEOWIZ Games which pits rivaling mercenary fractions, the Global Risk and Black List against one another in a set up similar to Counter Strike. Making a return to the WCG scene is the FIFA series with FIFA 12 (updated version), the only game within the sports category.

Accompanying the two officially listed titles are two more promotional games; Counter-Strike Online, a FPS developed by Valve and Nexon, as well as the ever popular World of Tanks, a free to play action massively multiplayer online (MMO) game by Wargaming, which has in recent years, received many nods accolades from critics and gamers alike.

Although the release has stopped short of elaborating on what other titles will be added to the list, a statement within which does assert that “a few more game titles will be announced soon” suggesting that fan favorites such as StarCraft 2, DotA 2 and or the League of Legends may not be left out in the cold after all. So keep your fingers crossed there true gamers!
