Interview with team LGD

As we count down the days to the hugely anticipated DOTA 2 event, The Asia at TGX Malaysia, let’s take a look at team LGD and how they’re gearing up for the competition.

Perhaps the most feared competitor at this year’s games; the juggernaut from the Middle Kingdom and by no stretch of the imagination – the harbinger of doom – a team’s whose stellar reputation far exceeds them; it is none other than team LDG-Gaming. Admittedly singled out as the team to avoid by the majority of participants interviewed for this introduction series, these crusaders from China will definitely be the ones to watch.

However, despite being labeled as the favorites for the tournament, team manager Rurutia prudently expects the competition to cause more than a few problems for him and his setup of professional MOBA players. “The competition going to Malaysia is very strong; we will not take each opponent lightly but take each game as they come,” he says, “[nevertheless] we hope that we can put on a good show for everyone!”

And a good show is what the fans, onlookers and followers of the series will no doubt come to expect of the team when they do take centre stage at the event. Having amassed an astonishing 28 major achievements in the last three years, LGD-Gaming is perhaps the most decorated team in the competition.

“In every competition we give our all,” Rurutia adds, whose team—featuring the likes of Zhang Ning “Xian8”, the team’s skipper and semi-carry, support players Liang Faming “DDC”, Zheng Zheng “Xiao_D”, Xie Bin “Tia”, and Liu Jiajun “Sylar”, as well as team leader Yang Shunhua “Nicholas”, recently finished first runners up at The International in Seattle this year.

“As of right now, preparation for the tournament is in full swing,” admits the team manager, “especially since the arrival of LGD.int.” Teasing the possibility of “special” tactics and maneuvers rehearsed specifically for The Asia, a knavish Rurutia went on to add that “you will have to wait and see”.

“We would like to thank the organizers of the tournament and our club LGD-Gaming, as well as our sponsors of LGD, Taobao and Razer. We would like to thank our friends; we’re going to continue to work very hard to achieve even better results! We’re going into the tournament to win it!”

The Asia is a regional DOTA 2 that will take place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia, in December 2012 during TGX Malaysia. Stay tune to Rapture Gaming as we will be covering more teams as we draw closer to the much hyped tournament! For more information on LGD you may look them up on their fanpage.

Prediction for team LGD:

“LGD, for any dota fan/player, is a force to be reckoned with. They have cemented their name in DotA 1 and they have pulled off a spectacular performance during The International 2. It’s hard to predict what the outcome is for this team, all I can say is that everyone must bring their A-Game or else they will be stomped by this Chinese powerhouse.”
