Meet the Ragnarok World Championship 2011 Champion – Team •’P h E n O m E n a’•

We once showed you a Point Blank team from Thailand who was the world champion for this year. Today we give you an interview with a Ragnarok team from Thailand who won world championship. A few weeks ago South Korea organized the biggest competition for Ragnarok Online, Ragnarok World Championship 2011 at Seoul. •’P h E n O m E n a’• the best team in Thailand, participated. •’P h E n O m E n a’• did well in the first round. They won some European teams and USA with scores of 2-0 and 2-1. Thailand faced off with Brazil in the final round and ultimately prevailed victorious.

We present to you an interview with team •’P h E n O m E n a’•.

RGN: Hello. Please introduce yourselves.

Chacky: Hi, I’m Chanwat “Chacky” Assawamachai , call me Chack. My character name is “Romantic[-เมโลดี้-]|Fz*”

Nut: Okay, I’m Tanakorn Sopamanomarch. My character name is Mr.JaZzMaN~`* and I play as Paladin. And I’m team leader.

RGN: Tell us more about the beginnings of your team.

Chacky: Fine. We all met each other in cyberspace and we played together in some illegal server that I can’t tell you specifically. We formed a group for the first competition Ragnarok Thailand Championship 2008 then continued up till now. We first joined the battle with the name The|Queen, we were the first in group and could get through last 16 teams round. I remember we won “Hello Kitty” most team hopeful to win but “Destraction” beat us up in the next round. Next year we split up for 2 teams with a new name •’P h E n O m E n a’• but it’s like dejavu. “Destraction” took us down in last 8 teams round again. In 2010 we had to fight with them again in the final round and we couldn’t win that game. In total, “Destraction” won us 3 times in a row. They’re become our rival team. We finally won them this year in the final round.

RGN: Is there a special reason why you finally won them this time round?

Chacky: We continued to grow and improve. We developed lots of tactics.

RGN: If I were you, I’d freak out after 3 losses in a row.

Chacky: Sure! Red Eyes beat us 3 times in 3 years.

RGN: What’s is Red Eyes?

Chacky: We call them Red Eyes because of their logo.

RGN: Why do you guys still play RO?

Nut: That’s F*ckin awesome so why not?

Chacky: I’ll play every game if there’s a competition for it.

RGN: What do you think about Esports in Thailand? I feel people and sponsors usually pay more attention to FPS games more.

Chacky: I think it’s depends on genre of the game. MMORPGs are more complicated for competitions. It doesn’t feel like FPS or DotA.

RGN: After you guys became world champions, were there any sponsors or partnerships interested in your team?

Chacky: None. By the way I’m playing DotA for competition and my team can do well in ESTC so sponsorship contacted us immediately. See the difference?

RGN: How did it feel when you became the champions in South-Korea?

Chacky: I felt so proud and happy about I can do something for country with gaming activity. When I arrive there I never thought about how I felt or travel. We concentrate to tactic , take some rest and thought of competitions.

Nut: But we couldn’t sleep the whole night.

RGN: Why???

Nut: We had problem about different of time between Bangkok and Seoul so that’s why.

RGN: Did you guys expect to become champions?

Chacky: All of us expected it.

Nut: Definitely.

RGN: What kind of problems did you guys experience during the competition?

Chacky: It’s problems about Mouse and Keyboard in event. They weren’t allowed us to use stuff we brought on our own. I think it’s because partnership in those exhibition.

RGN: Did you learn anything from this event?

Chacky: Many things I’ve learnt. Language, experience, solving problems and money LOL.

RGN: How much?

Chacky: 11,700$

RGN: Okay. Have you ever discussed about not playing Ragnarok Online anymore ?

Chacky: Never

RGN: You decided to keep playing because you love this game right ?

Chacky: It’s number one in MMORPG.

RGN: Last question. Have anything to say to gamers who read this interview ?

Nut: Diligence overcomes difficulties. Sloth makes them.

Chacky: I just want more competitions for Ragnarok and more opportunities to get some sponserships or partnerships. Dear gamers, don’t spend your time on gaming too much. You have to do your jobs first. Don’t let games ruin your life.
