GEST Dota 2 is back

GEST is back again with its first season of Dota 2. DotaTalk will be the official coverage partners of this tournament and this year. GEST will host various qualifiers for both South East Asia and non-SEA participants.

There will be 7 GMPGL qualifiers held throughout South East Asia: Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines and Myanmar/Cambodia/Laos/Brunei. On a side note, there will be a separate qualifier held for non-SEA teams in countries such as Australia, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Korea and Japan.

The total slots available for each qualifier will be 32 or 64, depending on the number of teams that register. The games will be held in private lobbies, with the format being BO1 Single Elimination. The Semi Finals and Grand Finals, however, will follow a BO3 format.

The Filipino qualifiers was held by the Mineski Event Teams last weekend, and was won by MSIEvoGTTnC while the dates for the remaining qualifiers are as follows:

The top 8 teams of the main event will be awarded points with the winner receiving 25 points. The total number of points won at each month are added up, and the top 3 teams by the end of the season will obtain a specified amount of cash prizes.
