G-1 Asia qualifiers – 8 challengers finalized for Phase 2

After two days of thrilling G-1 DOTA 2 South-East Asia qualifiers, we are left with the eight fortunate teams who will advance onto Phase 2 of the tournament and compete against the other 8 invited teams, namely Zenith, MuFC, LGD.International, RattleSnake, Vici Gaming, TongFu, For.Love and Rising Stars.

Fans witnessed multiple best-of-three matchups from the 16 teams during Phase 1 competition. Although only selected games were streamed, it was said that virtually every best of three matchup went down to the wire. One ‘unfortunate’ event that played out was MSI-EvoGT.TnC having to forfeit their last game, against Chained Stacks, because of a roster issue and scheduling conflict with another tournament.

In addition to Chained Stacks, the 7 other teams including MiTH-Trust, 1st.Vietnam, Neolution.Int, Gizmo, Rilminn, NeolutionTh and First Departure, will advance to Phase 2 which will start 19 March.

Will we see more upsets by some of the underdogs? Who will advance and face the other Chinese contenders? Who a dark horse rise to the occasion? A win in Phase 2 will mean a lot for the surging South-East Asian Teams – so check back later for more G-1 action.
