JoinDota Masters: Team Empire – The Giant Slayer

JoinDota Masters: Team Empire – The Giant Slayer

Finally! The Empire claimed their throne. This special edition of the JoinDota Masters was claimed by Goblak and the gang after defeating the Xboct and Ars-Art-less NaVi.

With multiple top-tier teams qualified for this special edition of the masters, no one was really sure who would win aside from the bigger name NaVi, and as expected, it was NaVi who qualified in the grand finals after beating Pulse, and Team Dignitas in their designated rounds.

On the other hand, Empire seemed to be in the cliff of the edge in their battle against Complexity as they went up into a sudden death match that would determine who would face NaVi in the grand finals. Fortunately, they did produce the better chemistry and teamwork that found their way beating Complexity in game 3.

The Grand Finals between Empire and NaVi was a best-of-three series. Initially, the series had been in NaVi’s favor since they were the heavyweight team that was proven to win in different tournaments. On the game day itself, many people were shocked as Ars-Art and Xboct was not in roster and Admir, and Phobos was seen instead. Both original NaVi players were not able to play the series resulting to a beat down from Team Empire.

Game One:

The first game was a close fight from the early to mid game phase. The major turnaround happened in the 20th minute mark as NaVi dived in a Tier-2 tower of Empire resulting to a 4 player killed favoring Empire. After that, it was the failed of Roshan by NaVi that sealed the deal as Empire killed not only the Stone Beast but also 3 players from NaVi resulting to Puppey calling “GG” in the 27th minute mark of the game.

Game Two:

With Empire on the upper hand, they ventured on an exotic pick by choosing “Razor”. Adding to this, Empire made a strategic pick by choosing “Chen” to intimidate Puppey “lycan” in the bottom Jungle. To make things worse for NaVi, their mid “Batrider” who was supposed to own Templar Assassin didn’t work and Empire “Clinkz” made a monstrous CS with 94/22 in the 11 minute mark of the game. In short, this game was really for Empire as they claimed the series in the 24th minute mark of the game.
