NinjaBoogie: We are still experimenting

One team that has undoubtedly already made a huge impact early this year is the newly formed team, Neolution International. Although the players are armed with a wealth of experience and chemistry playing together as former Singaporean team Duskbin, it remains a puzzle whether this line-up can step up and match the likes of top tier South East Asian teams like Zenith and Neolution.Orange (although one may be inclined to believe so after their recent third-place finish at the SEA League).

Rapture Gaming Network was fortunate to have a quick chat, after the SEA League, with the captain of the team, Michael “NinjaBoogie” Ross. Ninjaboogie was also a former member of TnC.Pagibig, the team that represented the Philippines in the last “The Asia” Grand Finals tournament hosted by Rapture Gaming.  In an exclusive sit down with the captain himself, he shared his insights about the team’s performance in the recently concluded SEA League.

RGN: In the semi-finals match against Orange, you guys drew first blood but eventually lost – what do you think happened in the rest of the series?

NinjaBoogie: I guess we got a bit over-confident after winning game 1 and thought we could take the series 2-0 but Orange pulled their act together and won the next 2 games. I still need (a lot) more training on my drafting (strategy) as well.

RGN: What was the rationale behind picking a duo-core lineup (e.g. Life Stealer & Lone Druid)?

NinjaBoogie: We are still in the experimentation stage so we switch around our style to see what we find most comfortable with. Once Foxx flies over, we should become more stable in our picks and (the lack of communication) is a factor right now with Foxx not being here with us.

RGN: Can you rate your team’s performance at the SEA League?

NinjaBoogie: I would rate our performance (at) around 5 or 6 out of 10. Even though I flew over to Singapore a few weeks ago, we haven’t had much training as a team.

RGN: Will the team’s performance be better when Foxx started training with you in Singapore?

NinjaBoogie: Yes, I’m hoping it will be.

RGN: What improvements do you think the team can make?

NinjaBoogie: We will review every loss and discuss it amongst ourselves and find out what we could have done to play better (for the next game).

Certainly, more can be expected from this Singapore-based team with them placing commendably at their first two tournaments. Having taken a championship title at SEA Sport and a bronze medal at SEA League, Rapture Gaming Network will surely have our eyes on this team’s performance in the future.
