RGN: Firstly, can you introduce yourself?

Blackmoon:

My name is Nam and I’m 20 years old. I am studying at the British International School. Now I am playing DotA and I am a member of team Full Louis.

RGN: It was known that you have played Warcraft 3 before, so when did you start to play games?

Blackmoon:

I have been playing games for a long time; I played the 4 buttons electronic machine since I was 7-8 years old, but only when I was in grade 6 that I started to play Warcraft 3.

RGN: What attracted you in this game?

Blackmoon:

It is not only a tactical game and but also a Blizzard’s game. I play most of their games such as StarCraft, Diablo, World of Warcraft… Prior playing Warcraft 3, I also played Broodwar. Generally I like the games from Blizzard, which are strategy based.

RGN: Which factor makes you think game Blizzard could attract a large number of players?

Blackmoon:

In my opinion, the gameplay is very simple, game players can easily access and be familiar with the game Blizzard without losing too much time in this. When I was in grade 6, I tried playing Diablo. It was not too difficult to play although I did not know any words in English (of course, I stopped at level one)

The storyline of Blizzard is very fascinating, logical, and creative. Throughout every section, it also satisfies the curiosity of players who wants to learn and explore.

Besides, the tactic of the game, Blizzard can create the balance that require players to have good micro / macro skills. The evidence of their success is that most strategy games are brought into the content of the WCG tournament.

RGN: DotA is a name of the game which inherited the tactical and some part in the plot of war 3. Is that the reason why you switch to playing DotA?

Blackmoon:

Actually I did not care much about the storyline of DotA. I have never read the bio of any heroes. I switched to DotA partly because the trend of War 3 meelee went down, it was no longer the same as usual. In the other part, I found DotA to be a very interesting game. I enjoy playing DotA right from the first game as a host of Kalimdor. The feeling of “line of sight”, lurking to trap the enemy make players interested; this is its own difference from meelee.

RGN: Currently, in the gaming community, your personal skill is very good assessed from while playing DotA. So how long does it take you to possess this ability?

Blackmoon:

I have been playing DotA since version 6.72 was introduced so I did not remember the exact time. Probably it was about 3 years ago. At first, I just played the game for fun. Later, Kazu (my former captain, he is now a member of Skynet) told me something about DotA. I could say that he was my teacher, it was thanks for his teaching that me and my teammates could have gotten some achievements today.

RGN: You used to play support but sometimes you play carry. What positions do you have a preference for?

Blackmoon:

Hmmm maybe my position which I have a preference for is ganker / support but I also enjoy playing the hero which has power like Syllabear, Weaver, Omni, Night Stalker v. … v..

RGN: Now that you are playing for Full Louis, what do you think about your teammates?

Blackmoon:

Pabeo is not only a good leader but also an excellent player. Although he sometimes gives a ban /pick formation team which is different from other teams but nobody can deny that his ability to direct is right. Pabeo is one of the best leaders in Hanoi.

Eddie is a little bit quiet, he is tycoon in game Samurai 2 and also handles semi-carry very well. Quangdepzai was his former teammate in the team 9x. His level was fluctuating, but he is very optimistic and very funny.

I guided Bibi to DotA. He is my best friend since my childhood; we understand each other and play very well together, especially in playing support.

RGN: Let’s move to a few “private questions” about you. It is known that you can play piano, did you learn by yourself or who taught you? And when did you learn to play the piano?

Blackmoon:

Hmmm I learnt it by myself… Because of that, there was no rule, so I have to discover and play the piano by myself. The first time I touch the keyboard was when I was in grade 12.

RGN: What is your favorite song?

Blackmoon:

I like the song named 1 Yiruma.

RGN: So, what is the song that you used to play?

Blackmoon:

Actually I do not dare say that I could play very well, I’m playing without basic rule so I am sure that I not good at all. But my music favorites are the songs of Yiruma that I have said before.

RGN: Playing game, competing in tournaments, and even practicing; certainly it would take you much time. So how can you balance this?

Blackmoon:

Hmmm because we have only 2 days a week for training so it does not affect too much of my time. I take 45 minutes a day to practice piano. The time remaining, I mostly hang out with friends, study or play Poker card occasionally.

RGN: When playing Poker card, do you win or lose?

Blackmoon:

Being lucky or unlucky is not important, sometimes I win, but sometimes I lose. In general, I just play it for fun.

RGN: What is your next target?

Blackmoon:

My next target will be to achieve well in the upcoming tournaments of ASUS in July. In addition, our team will continue training to get good achievements in other onLan tournaments in Hanoi. From the time me and Bibi joined FL, we do not have any championships.

RGN: Thank you very much for your time on this interview. Wish you can achieve more goals in the future and do as what you said,“Nothing is impossible”.
