I.                Tournament Rules:

·        Event Proper

o   Teams are given 10 minutes to plug-in heir gadgets headsets keyboard and mouse, including the installation of their drivers.

§  Teams must bring all relevant drivers for their keyboards and mice.

§  Teams will not be allowed to download drivers for their hardware should they forget to bring their own copies of required drivers.

o   Teams are given 3 minutes train and test their units.

o   A total of thirteen (13) minutes will be allotted for each team before a match will commence.

o   Event Schedule:

§  Registration : 9:00 am to 10:00 am

§  Tournament Proper: 11:00 am

·        Only registered accounts can be used throughout the tournament. Switching accounts during the match will not be tolerated and will result in the disqualification of the player and his/her team. (Hacked account is not a valid reason for switching accounts)

·        Both Team leaders are required to save Replays using Replay Tape.

·        These will result in sanctions for the player/team.

o   Threatening  GMs and any Gameclub Staff

o   Disregarding instructions and preventing the flow of the event to continue

o   Saying explicit words directed to GMs and any Gameclub Staff

·        In case of short-handed teams:

–        Absence of 3 or more members – the team will forfeit the match.

–        Absence of 2 members- The Team Leader of the short-handed team will have to decide if they will engage in a 3 vs. 5 match or forfeit their match. 

·        Pre-engagement/Post-engagement situation:

The terms Pre-engagement and Post-engagement will be used to determine if a round will be continued or restarted in the event of a major technical problem occurrence. This rule will be used on some instances.

Pre-engagement:

–        Pre-engagement situation is defined that all players (5 vs. 5) are still alive in a round. Regardless of how much HP left. It means the round must be restarted.

       Post-engagement:

–        Post-engagement situation is defined that at least one (1) player is killed and out of a round. If everybody got disconnected on the first round this means the corresponding round is continued to end and its result score is recorded. After the round ends, the following round will be played on a new game room.

–        All decisions made by the organizer/marshals are final.

·        Disconnections:

–        If 1 or 2 players get disconnected during a match due to a connection problem, the match will still continue. The disconnected player/players must join using the Free Join option.

–        If 3 or more players get disconnected during a match, the round, not the whole match, will be restarted.

–        Disconnection upon loading or before the start of the round or pre-engagement/gunfight will result into a remake of the match. (The match will be continued into a new room. Team scores made from the previous matches will be carried over)

NOTE:  If a player or team purposely disconnected out of the game (i.e. closed the client by pressing Alt+F4, shutting off the CPU power) the team will lose that particular round. On the 2nd infraction, that team will be automatically disqualified from the tournament.

·        Technical Problems: PC and Client Issue/Network Disconnection:

–        In case a problem occurs due to unstable internet/network connection, the GMs will restart that round regardless of the course of the match. (A new game room will be created to continue the match).

–        In case of PC/Client errors, the Pre-engagement/Post Engagement rule will be applied.

–        In the event a player experiences a Hardware problem/malfunction during a match, the issue will be decided by the Pre-engagement/Post Engagement rule.

·        Bugs:

–        In any case bugs (such as bugs in planting or defusing time explosive device and/or more) occurred during a match, that specific round will be restarted regardless of the course of the match.

–        Players are required to inform the GMs immediately regarding the encountered bug so the GMs can implement the rule. If a player fails to declare the bug within that round, the GMs will consider that round normal and all the scores made in that round will be counted.

·        Players must make final adjustments (all necessary settings in the game and computer accessories) as well as complete team practice 10 minutes before the start of the match.

·        Weapons that are only allowed:

o   MG : M60

o   SMG : MP5, P90

o   Rifle : M4A1, AK47, AUG, SG552

o   Sniper : AWM

o   Shotgun : XM1014

o   Secondary : Colt1911, Desert Eagle

o   Melee : Knife, BC-Axe

o   Thrown : (Standard) Grenade, Smoke, Flashbang

(All grenades with special features are not allowed)

o   Standard Items : Bag 1~4, C4 Setup/Defuse, Expand Grenade Slot

o   Head and body armors are allowed.

The above list may be subject to change by GMs and Authorized Tournament Personnel. Therefore, all the players are advised to check the notice earlier before the matches.

·        Characters that are only allowed:

o   SWAT, SAS, OMOH

Restrictions:

·        One Sniper per team rule.

o   Each team may have (1) Sniper on each round of the tournament.

·        Picking up of weapon/s during the game is allowed.

·        Character Item/Item Restrictions:

–        Anti-Smoke Helmet

–        Flashbang Guard

–        Shock Absorber

·        If a team fails to follow the rules, it will result to the disqualification of that team.

·        Any of these disorderly behaviors disqualifies a Team from participation, finals or prizes.

o   Threatening  GMs and any Gameclub Staff

o   Disregarding instructions and preventing the flow of the event to continue

o   Saying explicit words directed to GMs and any Gameclub Staff

·        Tournament staff members are the final arbiters in all situations and they have the final say in every situation, including with respect to Tournament chat.

·        Please refrain from using bad words, explicit or profane language in the tournament chat.

·        No cheats or hacks of any kind can be used. Contestants will be automatically be disqualified if they are caught using any cheat or 3rd party “helper” applications and will have their accounts permanently banned.

·        Taking advantage of known exploits in the game is also considered cheating. Exploits in the game include, without limitation, bugs that allow you to hide under obstacles or objects in the game to gain invulnerability, wallhacks, glitching, tapping or any other action that would be interpreted as gaining an unfair advantage due to software of game bug or Map flaw. If a Tournament staff member finds that a Contestant or Team has cheated, that team will be disqualified immediately from the Tournament with no recourse.

·        The organizers may install third party programs and/or join as an observer for tournament operation purposes, such as verifying match results of gathering match data.

·        In the event that any unexpected incidents or delays not mentioned in the rules occur, the organizer will decide to use its sole discretion to determine the outcome. All decisions made by the organizer and/or referees are final.

II.              Game rules and settings:

·        Match Scoring system:

The WCG CF Stars 2013 will be using a Single Elimination adding system.

–        Day 1 (Eliminations)

–        Eliminations Round 1 (16 Teams – 8 matches)

–        Day 1 (Regional Qualifiers)

–        Regional Quarter Finals (8 Teams – 4 matches)

–        Regional Semi-Finals (4 Teams – 2 matches)

–        Regional Finals (2 Teams – 1 match)

III.            Tournament Settings for Eliminations

(Single Elimination Adding System)

1st game: Race to 5 wins

2nd game:  Scores from the 1st match will determine how many wins the two teams must score to win the match.

Example:

Scenario: Team X vs. Team Y

1st game: Team X beat Team Y with the score of 5-1.

2nd game: Team X just needs two (2) win in order to win the match. Team Y needs to outscore Team X 5-0 to win the match or keep Team X under 1 win to force a Tie.

·        Tiebreaker:

–        The game will be forced into a (Sudden Death Round) if the total scores of each team are tied.

o   Sample

–        Round 1: Team X score is 5 and Team Y is 4.

–        Round 2: Team X score is 4 and Team Y is 5.

–        The faction will be decided in a toss coin and same map will be played.

–        Winner of the sudden death round will be declared as the winner.

·        Match Setting:

–        Game Mode: Destruction Mode

–        Objective: 5 Wins

–        Number of Players: Max (16 Persons)

–        Observer Mode: Max (6 Persons)

–        Selection of team faction will be decided by a coin toss involving the Team leader of both teams. The winner of the coin toss will decide the faction for their starting match (GR/BL). A match is consisted of 2 games. After the first game, Teams will switch sides.

–        Maps are predetermined in the following order:

o   Eliminations: Ankara

o   Quarter Finals: Eagle Eye

o   Semi Finals: Black Widow
