Nothing but FIFA – Msdos

 
 

RGN : Firstly, can you introduce a little about yourself?

Msdos :

My name is Do Duc Anh, I was born in 1988, I’ve just graduated and I’m currently working. I have been involved in ProA and mainly Fifa competitions. I was commonly known by my nickname Msdos.

RGN : Beside Fifa, have you ever played any games, especially eSports game?

Msdos :

Most games I played are offline RPG games such as the Final Fantasy series. In addition, I’ve also played eSports games like CS, War3 and DotA, but most of the time I play public for entertainment only.

 

RGN : There is a similar game of Fifa named Pro Evolution Soccer (PES), have you played PES before, how do you feel about this game?

Msdos :

PES is a very popular game in Vietnam. I remembered the time when FIFA 2000still contained many bugs, the game has been rife throughout the school. The advantage of PES over Fifa is the high level of popularity. At that time, only a few people have their own computer to play online games, so it was convenient and much easier to play PES. This is also the major premise for PES to maintain a strong position compared to Fifa in the present time. Although the last two versionsof PES are not as appreciated as Fifa, if you consider the common ground and perspective to each game, all of it will retain its own unique features.

RGN : If you had to choose, which game do you evaluate better?

Msdos :

In my opinion, it would be Fifa.

RGN : So, what is so special about Fifa that lead you to this choice?

Msdos :

First, Fifa stuck with my memories and more. I’ve been playing since Fifa 96. It was just me and the computer mouse. Second, EA is the manufacturer, especially from the time when they took up next generation to PC. They also listened to gamers and improved this game a lot. To me, FIFA has created a more realistic sense of PES.

RGN : Currently, Fifa VN community does not seem to be stricking, do you think in the future,  Fifa VN can grow stronger as the eSport communities such as War Craft 3 or DotA?

Msdos :

It is true that in the past two years, the movement of Fifa Vietnam is not active. One of the reason for this is the old team spirit from the beginning at the forum FFVN (the Fifalargest forum in Vietnam) has gradually relax because of their busy life. Some people needed to attend school; some people needed to work and others also quit Fifa. Another reason is because Fifa’s new community currently does not have individuals or groups with their ability and courage to gather people together to revive the movement. Because the leader is vital. So, if you find someone like that, the development of Fifa community will not bother you anymore.

RGN : Have you ever thought that you yourself would stand out to do this?

Msdos :

Actually, I quit the game for 3 years. However, if I could deal with my job and have a stable life, I think I would do it.

RGN : So now, are you continuing playing game or following the Fifa community?

Msdos :

Currently I’m tracking the new version being sold and play two or three games with friends. Reading news and articles and viewing discussion between young gamer in the forum game 

RGN : Previously, you were a gamer, so how is your life after you’ve quit playing the game?

Msdos :

A big difference! When I was gaming, I used to compete the Tour on Mirc at midnight. At that time, we just sit, chat and viewed the match throughdry text but we still felt happy. Although we finally reached to the semi-final, when our mothers asked us to go to bed, we would have announced that we lose.If we did not do that, we would not have a chance to play games the next day. When WCG tournament was held, we were eager to bring our game pad to compete, the competitive atmosphere was invigorating although we did not practiced much. Now, in the morning, I go to work. In the evening, I return home and watch film^^.

RGN : If your have a chance to select, do you choose to return to the past when you were a pro gamer?

Msdos :

Hmm…I’m not sure.

RGN : What is the reason for this?

Msdos :

The beauty of memories is that, it does not happen again. If I have opportunity to turn back, I’ll try to learn hard rather than playing games now. I think a little bit missing; a little bit of regret feels a little exciting.

RGN : Besides your interest in Fifa and game, do you have any fortes or hobbies?

Msdos :

My hobby is viewing the psycho-emotional dramas and movies with good actors and actresses, especially in South Korea and Hong Kong dramas and movies. If the drama or movie is good but without pretty actors and actresses, I won’t watch these! In addition, I love listening to Trinh music, bolero…

RGN : What is your favorite drama?

Msdos :

It is really hard to decide. But some movies that appear in my mind are ‘The Classic’ and ‘Taegukgi’

RGN : What do you intend to do in the future in both game and your real life?

Msdos :

My target in the future is maintaining my current job, after that, I will research and then go study abroad. If I can, I will buy a new computer to play Fifa12.
