RGN: When did you start playing DotA?

proA.Tieuquy: I started playing DotA from about 2006-2007. At that time, DotA movement just started developing in HCM city. In 2008, I started competing DotA seriously. Now I’m living in Hanoi, but in every holiday or occasion to back to HCM city, I still participate in some tournaments with my friends there.

One special thing since I knew how to play Warcraft III and later DotA, that was from 2002 to 2011, I participated in competeting in WCG every year!

RGN: Can you say more about your proA.DotA team?

proA.Tieuquy: In the early days I joined proA.DotA, I was extremely confused because everyone is stronger than me. But they helped me go along with them easily.

The most impressive player which I feel in proA.DotA is proA.zonzon – he is indeed a brother of mine. According to me, he was the best player in proA.DotA team. He taught me so many skills as solo-laner or be a carry at that time.

The captain of proA.DotA at that time was proA.HERO. He is an extremely hard on the team, the all for purpose of helping our team improves. He is really a responsible person and has a very good strategic vision.

The third player who I want to talk about is proA.Echxanh (proA.Frog), who is very gentle and never get angry. He’s particularly good in the role of supporter.

After I joined a month, proA.DotA team won the championship. Every time we won, all the members would come together to make a party with overwhelming joy.

RGN: You was born in HCM city, but why now you live in Hanoi? Did it give you a special experience when you go competing?

proA.Tieuquy: Many people asked me this question before. My mother’s home was in Hai Duong, a province which is near Hanoi. I quite love life in Hanoi, with the lovely girls, soft-spoken and cool weather. In a time I visited Hanoi, I had passed a university exam here and decided to stay in Hanoi to study.

Initially, I met quite many difficult, but gradually I learned to live indepedently, knew the difference between the Northern and Southern Vietnam, knew more about my mother’s homeland. When playing games, my opponents always surprised to see a gamer with a Southern Vietnamese accent in a whole team in Hanoi. After a couple of tournaments, they called me “the Southern boy”. I still feel happy to think about that time.

RGN: How did you moved to League of Legends from DotA?

proA.Tieuquy: After the WCG 2011 in Vietnam ended, League of Legends has officially launched and attracted many players. At that time, our proA.DotA team felt very excited about this new game and decided to play along both DotA and League of Legends.

Although just participated in some LoL tournaments, our team also gained some small successes. Perhaps the tactic in DotA and LoL are not so different. However, in Vietnam, SiOl team is still too strong, that’s why they beated us convincingly in Clash of Legends 2. I still play League of Legends and DotA. At each tournament which there are the presence of this two games, I usually have to be confused to choose which games I will attend to compete.

RGN: What are your hobbies?

proA.Tieuquy: I like cooking, reading, listening to the music and walking.

RGN: Do you cook well?

proA.Tieuquy: I cook pretty good because my family used to do restaurant business. To cook well, I often read cooking books and learn from my mum. Gradually, I love cooking from time to time.

I can cook many dishes, except fish and seafoods dishes. The most delicious dishes which I can cook is meat with pepper and the dishes which related to eggs. My family and my friends have tasted the dishes I cooked. Everyone was quite excited and fortunately that nobody have stomachage.

My most memorable with cooking was when I had to slice meat and mix it with spices by myself. I sliced meat so bad. Some pieces were too big and some pieces were too small, some were too thick while some were too thin. Beside, I also did not know how to use spices so some pieces were salty, and some pieces were quite sweet. It is really the hardest cooking time of mine. Fortunately, that was the time I cooked for myself. When I ate them, I did it so fast so I didn’t know the taste of that meal! (laugh)

RGN: What about your hobby in reading?

proA.Tieuquy: I enjoy reading about the human mind attained, the value of life and thinking of someone. I also love the type of business books like “Rich Dad Poor Dad”.

Reading can help me to have good behavior, to respond better and handle the difficult situations in my life. Reading helps you understand better which areas or issues which I concerned. I would love to put myself in the position of others to learn a certain issue.

RGN: Is there anything that you can’t do well?

proA.Tieuquy: I am quite lazy and eat very slow. At one time after winning the championship, our team went to celebrate in restaurant. While everyone was eating intently, I was busy at talking and when looking at the dishes, there was no longer any pieces!

RGN: What is your future intention?

proA.Tieuquy: After graduating from university, I will return to HCM city. However, if I am “hooked” by someone special in Hanoi, I will definitely stay in this place.
