Team Impunity looking to repeat their GSL feat

The reigning champions of the Garena HoN Star League are looking to extend their stay on the throne. Travelling to Thailand later this month, Ric, also known as iMp.RHonn, the captain of ROCCAT.Impunity will have his sights firmly on one prize and one prize only—for anything less he concedes, will be a big disappointment to the fans that have so religiously supported them from the get-go.

Chalking up over 20 major tournament triumphs thus far, Impunity’s players are big game athletes that thrive off the pressure and excitement surrounding large scale events. Possessing an ambition aptly matched by their manager’s vision and drive, the skipper admits that the road to gold will not be as easy as it was before. “We’ve been around since 2010 after meeting our manager, Check, and we are striving to be one of the best teams globally,” he says, “although our team is returning to the upcoming GSL 2013 as champions, we have to admit that our odds might not be as high as before due to commitments such as army and school.”

Potentially complicating matters further will be the involvement of the two invited teams from the United States, SG and TDM. Ric, who plays the team’s carry, warns that because the American teams play on a different server, the likelihood of them pulling off a move or combination that his team have yet to prepare for is a very real and present danger. On top of that he added, “the [American] teams are full-time professional gamers who are paid to train,’ which will ultimately give them the edge over their Asian counterparts who usually aren’t.

These obstacles however, will do naught to thwart the will of the Singaporean outfit.  Spurred on by the US$60,000 prize carrot, his teammates, Trinity, Act, his brother Air and their newest member, Signify, are determined to run out the competition with their polished team play and “secret” hero combinations. “We have been exploring with new combinations and we’re still refining the finer details and fixing those little flaws,” he hinted without revealing too much.

“We would like to shout out to our friends in Thailand; we’re looking forward to meeting them again for the third time. Of course, not forgetting our sponsors: Illuminary Entertainment, ROCCAT, Colosseum, Quirky Designs, and MyRepublic. Last but not least, all our supporters! We will do our best to make you guys proud!”

Suggesting that his team will have to eat fried bugs should they fail to win the tournament, let’s hope that for their sake, a podium finish can save their palates. What do you think; can Impunity sweep aside the competition to retain their coveted crown? Let us know in the comments section below!
