They are your masters of ceremony – bewitching voices whose blurts and bellows can rouse a crowd and whose comic caricature of events can crack a smile or even conjure a hearty chuckle. They are your casters. And as the region’s biggest DOTA 2 event draws closer, we invite men in the hot seat to share their thoughts on the upcoming event.

One of the casters confirmed for the event is Rapture Gaming’s very own shoutcasting extraordinaire, Joshua Tan, known to his fans and watchers as Jtan, who by his own admission is the caster with the sickest music playlist on stream. Having built quite an extensive fan base in Asia, the jovial and captivatingly candid caster with a massive passion for eSports is all pumped for proceedings come 22nd December 2012.

“It’s going to be all out war!” Reckons the caster, “and I’m sure everyone who will be attending The Asia will have their minds blown!” Looking forward to greet and engage the DOTA-hungry crowd when the take seat, Jtan admits that what really keeps a caster going on a stage like this are the fans. “Sure the teams will be pulling out the big guns and showing us remarkable plays but it’s the fans that shout, scream and cheer for every nail-biting moments—the energy of the crowd, that is what really excites me!”

Dispensing predictions ahead of the massive showdown at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, caster Jtan has already a few favorites in mind. “I’m expecting a Zenith versus MUFC Grand Finals since they are currently, in my opinion, the best of the best in the SEA Region. TnC.Pagibig has been performing well and I want to see how they fare in a huge LAN event such as this.”

But as any veteran in the field would know, come D-day it’s anybody’s game—and as Joshua would to bring to our attention, “the battle begins my friends.” So pack some popcorn and pad your pants because spectators and fans be warned, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.

Taking each cast as a learning experience, the affectionate Jtan who is madly in love with eSports reveals the other love of his life, “I’d like to give a shout out to my ever loving and supporting girlfriend France Marie! Don’t miss this opportunity to head on down to Malaysia to join the front lines! To all the Filipino fans out there, TIWALA LANG BUS YAN!”
