The excitement of GEST September increased as David “LD” Gorman accompanied David “Godz” Parker in the commentary. It was fresh in the minds of everyone how the team Emaxx fell 0-4 in their group last August. This month, it was a totally revised story as they conquered Group C with a 4-0 standing.

Prior to the tournament day, Orange, who was supposed to compete, did announce that they would be out in the September leg of GEST. As a replacement, the newly acquired team of Neulotion Esports in the Philippines did take Orange’s spot.

First day of the tournament did went as expected as top caliber teams such as iZone, Ideal, Dreamz, and Pacific Palit all advance in the playoffs with only a single lost in their slate. The first shocker of the tournament did happen when Msi Evo GT eliminated fan favorite Mineski in the group stages.

Moving on to the quarterfinals, we saw a battle of Ph. vs. SEA teams that really went well for the Pinoys as they were all able to roll over their opponents to face each other in the semis of the tournament.

Again, accidentally the tournament was repeatedly simplified into a Pacific vs. Pacific battle for the GEST crown, as both Emaxx and Palit defeated their counterparts’ iZone and Dreams to advance in the finals.

The final round was a best-of-three series between two teams under the Pacific flag. The series did run without brotherly love as Emaxx, two time GEST champions and Palit, Play CyberGames PH Qualifier winner, did show their cards with full aggression.

In the first game of the series, we found ourselves with a very entertaining roster as Pacific.Emaxx opted to choose aggressive combos of Riki, Wisp and CK + AA, while on the other hand, Pacific.Palit did go with the hard pushing Broodmother. In the early games, it was comfirmed that the child prodigy Karl “Santino” was a force to reckoned with as he hammered his way to multiple kills with his Slardar. But the tables turned the moment when IO got his ultimate. From this moment, Emaxx continued to punish Palit and won the first match.

Second game was no different as Inma and the gang picked right where they left off and Emaxx obliterated Palit to force them to call GG in the 28th minute mark of the game. With this win, Pcfc.Emaxx did get their 3rd GEST Championship and a well-deserved revenge of the previous month result.

After the tournament, Rapture Gaming Network was fortunate to speak with one of the members of Pacific.Emaxx, Richard “Paseo” Minowa.

RGN: Greetings and congratulations with your team’s victory! Last August, we witnessed a poor performance from your team, what happened last month?

Paseo: Thanks! Of course, I was deeply disappointed with it but we need to move on past is past. There are so many reasons but I prefer to keep it secret *Laughs*

RGN: It’s great to see you have yourselves back in track. So what is your strategy against Pacific.Palit in the finals?

Paseo: There is no absolute strategy towards playing with them, but the thing is we did get the advantage when it came to pickings. I already predicted our first 3 bans/picks and also their possible picks. I think that is the reason.

RGN: Can you give us an idea how hard when playing with Pacific.Palit?

Paseo: It is hard since they know how we play.

RGN: Could we expect this good performance from you in the upcoming tournaments?

Paseo: Always? We’ll try! XD

RGN  Do you have any message to your fans and supporters?

Paseo: Please Like the Emaxx Philippines Fanpage and thanks for the support! Hahaha!

Congratulations to Pacific.Emaxx for winning their 3rd GEST Championsip!

Final standings:

1st – Pacific.Emaxx – $1,500
2nd – Pacific.Palit – $700
3rd – Ledion.Dreamz – $300
