DotA has been one of most played game in Malaysia. Malaysian teams are well known for their strength and strategy. Invasion.my, one of the Malaysian teams, is making a name for themselves. Invasion.my is made up of ShenGG, snow, fzfz, Ohaiyo, kelvintan, with the team manager is John Lim and their official sponsor is Invasion Cyber Café.

Invasion was really making a name. They reached the 2nd place in the Gigabyte E-Sports Tournament International DotA Cup 2012 last March, and in the recent Gigabyte E-Sports Tournament International DotA Cup 2012 this April, they we were able to draw a 4-0 winning streak during the group stage. Their group stage was made of top team namely Invasion.my, Mineski, Neolution, StarsBoba and ECS DotA, named “group A of death”. They were able to defeat all the teams they faced in the group stage and really put up a good show.

Here’s a short interview with ShenGG, captain of Invasion.my

RGN: Hello Shen! Please introduce yourself.

Shen: Hello Im ShenGG, currently captain for Team Invasion

RGN: When did you start playing DotA?

Shen: I started play DotA since year 2009.

RGN: Besides Dota, what other games do you play?

Shen: I only play DotA 1 and DotA 2…lol

RGN: Who is your favorite hero and why?

Shen: My favorite hero is Crystal Maiden in DotA 1. Because in early game, Frostbite is very strong disable and Nova is a very good skill for ks hero and creeps =D. CM is the cutest hero in DotA 1 too.

RGN: How did you get involved in the competitive scene?

Shen: Last time, there were a lot of LAN tournaments with large prize pool in Malaysia. So as a dreamer, I gathered some friends and wished to win some tournament together. In that time, Mushi and Winter were always the champion teams. It was like impossible to win against them, so they got ban by some tournament. I remember my first champion was my team with Mushi against WinteR team. That time Mushi taught me a lot of things on support, and his view in DotA. After that, he invited me to join Orange Academy team and start to play competitive.

RGN: What is the feeling of being a part of Invasion.my?

Shen: It was so excited and stressful; this is first time for me being a captain. Besides that, our sponsor, Mr. Andy, is a very successful and young businessman. I’m wish to learn some strategy from him =D.

RGN: What can you say about the Southeast Asian teams?

Shen: Currently, Southeast Asian teams are getting stronger and stronger, especially Filipinos teams. I think it’s because of the tiring of China DotA dominating! I think it would be epic when PH teams clash with China teams this year.

RGN: What should we expect from you in the future?

Shen: I will switch my weakness to strength which is playing more micro heroes in my team and change my draft to be more exciting.

RGN: Any message to your fans?
