AEONSports: The Triumph of TGXDotA Nationals

After watching his team sweep competition aside at the TGX National DotA Finals, Michael “XtReM1St” Phee, the general manager of AEONSports.DotA, is not taking the looming challenge of the SMM Grand Finals lightly. “The team is currently on a hectic but necessary training schedule,” announces Michael, “we are going to watch all our opponent replays to have a better understanding of their game.”
Formed in 2005, AEONSports is one of the more decorated teams in the region of South East Asia with notable triumphs in distinguished competitions aplenty. Having finished an impressive 4th at the SMM Grand Finals in Kuala Lumpur back in 2008, Michael and his team currently find themselves seeded into this season’s Grand Finals which is to be played TGX Singapore in September.
However, the journey was no stroll in the park asserts Michael. Alluding to the finals of the National TGX championship fought out at Orchard Central on the 21stof August the team manager noted that his opponent’s (GGhometeam^1) unorthodox draft had them scratching their heads over deciding what tempo at which they should play the game and the tactics they should employ.
“However, throughout the finals, to put the opponent under pressure we constantly stuck to one another thus forcing the opponent into big engages. This strategy paid off when we won a crucial battle outside the opponent’s rax,” explains Michael.
AEONSports, which comprises of 6 members; Daryl “iceiceice”Koh, Wilson “d4rkw1sH” Tang, Lin “Bouncy” Zhi Ren, Su “Kiosaii” Wei Han, Eugene“FrAgniiTy” Lim and Maw “-iicy” Chai, apart from the owner Wong “Eyrc” Wei Zhenand Michael “XtReM1St” himself, is a competitive e-gaming clan whose central philosophy of teamwork and astute game plans have served them well in recent years.
“We always have a few game plans or drafts, as DotA calls it, and it will be adjusted accordingly to our opponent’s strengths and weaknesses,” reveals Michael when asked to comment on the core strategies involved in beating his opponents. “I’m glad that everyone played exceptionally well at the TGX Singapore Finals. Even if a player performs perfectly during a game he will still need the help of his team mates to perform the necessary tasks.”
AEONSports can undoubtedly be pleased with Michael’s felicitous assessment of their solid performance at the finals. However, special gratulatory wishes were reserved by the manager for their main sponsor, Kingston Technology. “Their HyperX memory module support enabled our players to train effectively at home without any memory issues!
