It has been 9 months since Blizzard officially released StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty worldwide. The Vietnamese gamers’ community, who are already fond of  StarCraft: Brood War, will have to “refresh” themselves in order to adapt to the new game. Some of them succeeded while others did not. Perhaps after a short conversation with proA.Moltres, one of the most famous gamers in Vietnam, we could understand the reason.

Basic information: Nick name: proA.Moltres a.k.a Venus Full name: Nguyễn Hải Trung Location: Vietnam Games: StarCraft: Brood War, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty Favorite gears: Logitec Optical Mouse, DT35 – SamSung KeyBoard – White

Favorite music: K-pop

RGN: As a veteran gamer, who have gained a lot of achievements with StarCraft: Brood War, why did you decide to restart your gaming career with StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty instead of stopping like many gamers in your generation?

Moltres: I never gave up my love and passion for Starcraft and I am determined to keep going with StarCraft II. Although I am quite busy with personal life now, I still arrange to be immersed in the world of StarCraft II. In addition to that, StarCraft II has many positive changes comparing with its “brother”. This makes me feel curious and interested in the game.

RGN: Do you plan to continue competing in the StarCraft II tournaments, liked you did with StarCraft lately?

Moltres: Sure. I will definitely participate in the tournaments.

RGN: Do you think that StarCraft II have the opportunity to appear in WCG Vietnam or?

Moltres:In my opinion, the answer is “yes”. Although not many gamers play StarCraft II in Vietnam and Southeast Asia at present, the potential development remains huge. Perhaps, the organizers should think about it.

RGN: Many people assume that no one plays StarCraft II in Vietnam. One time, I met an Australian gamer in “Battle.net”. When I introduced myself as a Vietnamese player, he was really surprised. As a StarCraft gamer in the community, what can you comment about the current situation?

Moltres: It is not difficult to understand that foreign gamers think that a few people or even no one plays StarCraft II in Vietnam. We can see the current trend that online games are strongly developing. They attract young players. In addition, StarCraft II also requires a relatively high spec gaming machine and a subscription to play. It creates a barrier to young players, who cannot afford to play StarCraft II. Consequently, the total amount of players is not large and we do not have many chances to compete with others. That causes the slow progress comparing with foreign countries.

RGN: How did you start playing StarCraft II? Any difficulties?

Moltres: During my time training StarCraft: Brood War, I collected some information about StarCraft II in the early period of the game. Gradually, I am totally interested in the game because of the eye-catching graphics and many changes in military units.

RGN: Currently, there is gossip that proA.thuoclao, who has been the StarCraft champions of WCG Vietnam for the last few years, decided to play StarCraft II even though he had announced retirement. Do you think that the race between the three horses – proA.Moltres, proA.ThuocLao and proA.Nexttime will be repeated with StarCraft II?

Moltres: I know best about Thuoclao. He was one of the gamers training with me when we started playing StarCraft II. In the next tournaments, the clashes between Thuoclao and me will be highly possible. Any debts in WCG, I will pay off with him by StarCraft II.
For proA.Nexttime, I am not sure. Someone told me that he is focusing on his education.

RGN: I understand that you are not only fascinated by the handsome Korean StarCraft gamers, but also attracted by the Korean singers. Which bands do you like best at present?

Moltres: I am a big fan of K-Pop. There are a lot of famous singers and music bands currently. However, my favorite bands at the moment are just Big Bang (Boy Group) and After School (Girl Group).

RGN: You are also famous in the Vietnamese music sharing community. Does this work take much of your time? Which is better, music or StarCraft?

Moltres: It is my other hobby. The work of sharing music videos in high quality does not take up much time. I was assisted by a rapidleech host, that is convenient to upload or download. I can say that they are the same to me, music and StarCraft. Without them, I cannot feel at ease after working hard in school and in office. My blog’s address is: http://moltresvn.blogspot.com/. I hope you will visit and share with me.

RGN: Thanks for your time!
