![]() ![]() ![]() These interviews are of the gamers who are representing Malaysia and Vietnam at the ongoing IeSF Challenge. Their names are shortened to their initials for convenience. Yap Yong Seng (YS) Chew Hoe Sheng (HS) How's your progress so far in the tournament? YS: Still improving, but my standard has dropped slightly. I’ve won England and Holland, but lost to Switzerland, so I’ve qualified for the next round.Champion in my group stages, and I’ve won Switzerland, it’s quite easy for me because 3 of the countries have never touched FIFA Online 2, and us Asians have the advantage over them Who are the tough players you've faced? YS: Switzerland, because his cross is almost impossible to defend against. HS: The toughest opponent has to be Switzerland. Who do you not want to meet most? YS: Of course Hero, from Germany, but I’m meeting him in the next round. He’s the 2006 and 2007 WCG Champion, and 1st Runner up for this WCG 2009. Has the weather in Taebaek affected you? YS: No, the room is quite warm, if you sit in there for long, you'll feel as if you're in a sauna. HS: Though for this year’s WCG, it affected me quite badly, as it was colder than Taebaek.. they probably didn’t turn on the heater in the event hall, haha.. How do you feel about the event so far? YS: This event is considered very grand, yeah, and Korean people are quite friendly and helpful. Who do you pick as favorites to win? HS: Maybe Hero from Germany, and the koreans. Why? YS: I think, Vietnam also not bad, they won one of the koreans 3 – 2. HS: The Koreans have more experience than us and they have been playing this game since 2008.And also they have a huge community here in Korea. How do you feel about Singapore, Msia/VN and India chances? HS: Msia and Singapore and Vietnam should be better other countries, except for the Koreans. Made any friends? HS: Erm no, eh yes, Phirkhan. Haha.. He’s too friendly with us till we forget. YS: We made friends with the South Africans too. Even though they lost early in the match, they still have the enthusiasm inside them. But it's a big disadvantage for them as they were not used to the PC version. A lot of the European teams didn’t know that this event is not using console based FIFA. YS: We had dinner together with them, and we spent almost 4 hours .. HS: 3 hrs, because they were talkative, always chatting about their nation’s history... YS: But they are still good, they have a good attitude. After the event, what are you going to do? YS: Actually I still have many rounds, so we will train well and do our best. What do you usually do when attending international events? YS: mostly train and get experience and promote our clan too. This time, we are very happy to meet the Koreans, like the Chief of Taebaek’s Tourism and Culture division What do they like most about such events besides the competition? Sightseeing? Babes? Food? YS: All of it. Hehehhehehhehe.. HS: but the most important thing is the feeling of the drive to win in such competitions. We would like to thank T2 Internet Café, Gamersdot com and Spotgamers for being there for us. And of course our clan. -RGN |
